I know this question has been asked already, but wondering if anyone might have some new information. I am trying to find a Mini Cooper to rent for the weekend. My girlfriend loves them and I’d like to get one for her to be able to drive for our trip. I am also seeing if the dealer will be able to help me out.

I have a 05 mini cooper type s. Does anyone know how much it would cost to replace the radiator? I know there is a bunch of labor hours to be put into it considering how much stuff will need to be taken off to even get to it (supercharger, intercoler etc…..)

A: I see the radiator online for about $100.00 + $50.00 for hoses + $25.00 for coolant. Figure in about 2 hours labor @ $75 – $100 per hour. So , $375 on the top end. Let me know how close I am will ya?

Q: How do you open the hood on a 2004 mini-cooper?
It is below freezing 13F and I wanted to check the anti-freeze level of my brothers mini-cooper while he is out of town for a month.

A: The hood or “bonnet” release is on the passenger side floor board. It’s British!!!

Plus, the MINI has a Full Maintenance warranty, you shouldn’t have to do anything. The car should be fine while it is outside. If you have the keys, turn it to the first click and it will tell you on the speedo how many miles it has until it’s check up. If it is not there yet then you don’t need to do anything.

Plus, it’s your brother’s MINI, I would hate it if someone was jacking with my MINI. We are pretty close to our MINI’s.

Q: What car can beat a Mini Cooper S that would be affordable?
My cousin is a VERY proud owner of a Mini Cooper S, and I am looking for a new car and wish to silence him. I have looked into Scion tC and Acura RSX, Ideas on how to mod these or cars similar to these to a level that would dust a MINI would be appreciated.

A: get an RSX type-s, not a TC, even the supercharged TC’s lose to the type-s… anyway, get an intake, header, hi flow cat or test pipe, exhaust, and hondata kpro (ecu)… with that you should have right at 200 whp, which should be enough to beat a mini… if you want to dust him though, you may have to go turbo.

A: Don’t use KBB. It always over-estimates the price of the car. The real market value of your car is what people are willing to pay for it so the best way to estimate the price is to find out what people are actually paying for similar cars. From my experience, completed ebay auctions are the simplest and fastest way to do that. Look for similar cars that recently sold on ebay (no earlier than a month or two ago) and see how much they sold for. That’s how much a private buyer would pay for the car, i.e. the higher end of the value. To find out what you can expect from a dealer or as a trade-in, you can either get a Carmax estimate or use Edmunds (which is more accurate than KBB). Carmax is better because it’s an actual estimate from a dealer and it’s free. They inspect your car and make you an offer that’s valid for 2-4 weeks.

A: around £3000 because you need to replace the gearbox install a clutch and gearstick which means refitting the centre console, re configuring the gearing ratios actually doing this would be time consumming and expensive so dont bother and just get a new car i would advice a classic mini 1275 gt its much better
