Q: How to disable the TPMS on a Toyota Tacoma 07?
I need help disabling the tire pressure monitoring system on my toyota tacoma 2007. I put new tires on my truck and believe that I may have messed up the sensors. The light never goes off! I know my tire pressure is correct so I just need the light to be disabled somehow! Please help! Thanks!
A: Disabling the system is illegal and will only result in… the light being on all the time.
Take it to your Toyota dealer to have the problem diagnosed or better yet just follow the reset procedure in your owners manual.

Q: Should I buy a Toyota Tacoma or an FJ Cruiser?
I am trying to decide between a Toyota Tacoma 4WD crew cab and an FJ Cruiser. Which one will give me more bang for my buck?
A: It depends on your use, I would personally prefer the Tacoma, more cargo space, plus that half-door access to the back on the FJ Cruiser would drive me crazy after a few weeks. However if you don’t have a family and its just for you the FJ Cruiser is also nice.

Q: Can someone help me find a used toyota 4runner or toyota tacoma?
I’m trying to buy a vehicle and i want either a toyota tacoma or toyota 4runner; i need the year range to be in between 1990 and 1996. and if you could fine cheap ones that’d be great, live in VA, so maybe also find some kinda close to my state. and if you could put up site links specifically where toyotas are sold (preferably by independent people, not dealers) that’d also be great. thanks

Q: What is the difference between a Toyota Tacoma sr5 and prerunner?
What is the difference between a tacoma sr5 and a prerunner? I’ve seen a few very different looking tacomas, and there is one I like but don’t know what exactly it is. Pretty much any information about these trucks would be appreciated.
A: Hi,
for Toyota, the SR5 designation is a certain level of trim which varies somewhat depending on which vehicle it is on and what model year the vehicle is (the Tacoma is one of the vehicles Toyota offers the SR5 trim on, the Tundra would be one of the others).
Usually, SR5 includes options such as power windows and locks, keyless entry, cruise control air conditioning, single CD player and some type of upgraded interior. There may also be additional body moldings and those may be in color and a different rim/tire combination.
A PreRunner simply means the Tacoma has a 6 cylinder engine, but it is only rear-wheel drive.
PreRunners are not 4WD and are not available with a 4 cylinder engine.
The PreRunner will have a larger tire/rim combination like a 4WD model.
Prerunners usually have an SR5 trim package and may come in regular or extended cab configurations, depending on the model year.
Prerunners are easily identified by the Prerunner badging on the tailgate, or if that has been removed, by the absence of a 4WD shifter/turn dial in the interior of the cab.
A Tacoma may have the SR5 trim and may be a regular or extended cab, but be a 4 cylinder, 2WD or 4WD model.

Q: What is the best car seat for the Toyota Tacoma extended cab truck?
My husband has a Tacoma and we are looking to buy a second carseat, a rear facing/non carrier carseat, for his truck. Which has the smaller backseat. I currently have the Britax Diplomat in my car and love it but it seems to take up a lot of space in my car, so I’m not so sure it will work so great in his truck. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what carseats to are best as far as safety and fit for such a small space.

Q: What type of transmission fluid does a 2002 Toyota Tacoma 2wd Prerunner use?
I am going to change the fluid in my 2002 Tacoma and am not sure if I should use dexron 3 fluid or another type of fluid.
A: According to my mitchell program, it takes Dexron 2 or 3. You can use either.
It also says a drain and fill takes 2.1 quarts which isn’t much. I’d suggest having someone with a transfusion machine do it. That way, all the fluid gets changed.
Q: How much could I sell a 99 Toyota Tacoma for?
I currently own a 1999 Toyota.
It’s a regular cab 2 door pickup truck. (seats 5 people).
It has 140,00 miles on it, and the interior is in decent condition.
It’s exterior is in very good condition (no scratches on the paint).
I just replaced the brakes on it, and installed a brand new radio system.
About how much could I sell this for?
A: $137.41
Q: How does a Toyota Tacoma Prerunner TRD Off Road perform on dirt roads/slippery surfaces?
Just bought an ‘05 Tacoma Prerunner TRD Off Road Doublecab and was wondering what to expect with the performance. I’m overseas with the Army and wondering what to expect, particularly in snowy conditions when I get home in a few weeks!

Q: Air intake for a 2006 toyota tacoma prerunner, whats the best out there? even if it isnt street legal?
looking for a pretty good cold air intake for my 06 toyota tacoma prerunner. whats a pretty good one? im looking at a k&n 63 series, even though it isnt street legal in cali. looks like pretty good stats, but is there anything else out there that might be better? thanks ahead of time!
A: WELL TRD (TOYOTA RACING DEVELOPMENT) MAKES ONE BUT IT ISNT SMOG LEGAL. IT DOESNT COME WITH A CARB STICKER SO WHEN IT COMES TIME FOR SMOG YOU’LL HAVE TO SWAP IT OUT WITH THE ORIGINAL AIR SETUP. K&N ALSO MAKES ONE BUT IT TOO ISNT LEGAL. IN MY OPINION THE TRD IS BETTER. AT LEAST IT FALLS UNDER TRD’S AND MOST OF TOYOTA’S WARRANTY. IM NOT TO SURE ABOUT HOW K&N GETS INVOLVED WITH WARRANTY ISSUES. _____SIDE NOTE TRD SHOW INCREASES OF 11HP TO 15HP MAX GAIN AND K&N SHOWS APPROX 10.31
Q: How do you remove the stock grille of an 01 Toyota Tacoma?
I just bought a new grille for my 01 tacoma i see that the stock grille is attached by clips but there is not space to remove it. How do i take it out?
A: It’s not easy, and I’m not trying to be funny. You first remove the two outer turn lamps, and then you have to reach in with a long, small screw driver and push the clips down ( there are seven). There are also two on the bottom outer edges that you need a long needle nose for. If you will email me at toyodave@yahoo.com I will send pics and instructions.
Hope this helps. God Bless!
Q: 2001 Toyota tacoma, a lot of trouble with the drum brakes?
I have had numerous problems with the drum brakes on my ‘01 tacoma. I even took it to the dealer, which I thought would be a good idea, but proved otherwise. Basically the drum keeps on wearing out-of-round, therefore causing a pulsation when the brakes are applied. I’ve been 3 times to different mechanics and still no solution. The brakes also make a constant clicking sound. Has this happened to any other tacoma owners?
A: Sounds like you need to have the axle checked to make sure it is not bent. The axle has a large flange on the end of it and the drum mounts on it. If it doesn’t turn true, the drum wobbles back and forth while turning and can wear improperly and induce vibration. That would also account for the clicking. If the drums were machined too coarsly, the groove in the surface can cause the shoes to “screw out” and cause a clicking noise. It is very unusual for the drums to “wear” out-of-round, but if the adjusters are too tight, the drums could over-heat and warp. Also if they get real hot and are then quenched in water, they can warp as well. If the proportioning valve is out of adjustment, you will either experience pre-mature lock-up or insufficient rear braking (won’t lock even in panic stop with empty bed), but it should not cause a vibration as the adjustment is static once the bed is loaded. Are you sure the vibration is from the rear? Next time it is vibrating, try using the emergency brake by itself and see if the vibration is there. It if is, it is from the rear. If not, it is from the front, a much more likely scenario. Sometimes it is very difficult to determine where it actually is. Good luck!
