Q: I’m looking for a purple toyota tacoma for sale?

A: Good God ! WHY ?!

Q: Does anuone have a 2003 Toyota Tacoma camper shell for sale, or the best place to buy one. And how much?

A: Place an ad in the newspaper. Query camper shell vendors.

Q: Are there any websites out there I can find used ecm’s for sale other than ebay for my 96 Toyota Tacoma?
Thanks for any tips.

A: car-part.com is my favorite, search by distance, you’ll probably find one right in your home town.

Q: Why do people way over charge for Toyota Tacoma’s?
My BF is looking into purchasing a newer Tacoma. At least 01 or up (he prefers the 05 and up style but they are very costly).

Anyways I have been looking all over my state (Oregon) for prices. No matter where I look all the trucks are 2-5 thousand (or more!) over Kelly Blue Book value! We refuse to pay over kbb value for something because its a waste of money especially if its way over like all these trucks have been.

I don’t understand this. Its like every one/place that sells these trucks hordes them at a higher price then they are worth so people are forced to pay more. A $10,000 truck is selling for $15,000! Is it like this everywhere or is it just my area?

I guess it doesn’t help that he wants a crew cab (4-door) 4×4 V6 which are some of the more expensive models. We need the extra room (4 door) for when I start showing dogs and traveling so it has to be 4 door.

Is there anywhere I am going to find a Tacoma like this for sale around kbb price or are they all going to rip offs?

Advice would be great! Thanks for reading.
and to add you would think because of the recall they might have gone down in value a little bit. Well I guess not since people are still asking an arm and a leg for them!
ETA: No need to be RUDE! and no I will gladly pay someone for what a car is worth but not $5000 over what it books for I am sorry. I mostly just wanted to know if other people have experienced this in your area. It seems that ONLY Tacomas are like this no Ford trucks, no Chevy trucks ONLY Toyota Tacomas! Why?
LOL car lots buy cars for trade in value not kbb retail value. I know how business works. I have bought 2 cars at a lot which both were kbb value. Its not only the car lots its just people in general selling them. I have seen car lots over charge for other makes, but nothing like these tacomas. I would help him but I have a Scion TC I am paying off myself (which I got from a car lot at kbb value). I am not a moron and I am not bitching I simply want to know if other people have experienced just tacomas being more than kbb value in their area. So far everyone has failed to answer it.

Nice try Anthony I have owned several toyotas and 2 toyota 4×4s (pre-tacoma). They were all great cars.

A: Its not true that Dealers pay BB when they buy cars/trucks….they pay somewhere close to trade in..(if your lucky)…so if they are asking 5k over RETAIL value then they are padding it quite a bit…but they also know people are going to try to talk them down so they mark them up hoping to still make a good profit …its a buyers market right now for cars/trucks….the ball is in your court so to speak with the way the economy is….dealers have been hit almost as hard as realtors

I feel your pain…I’ve actually been looking at some Tacomas as well…somewhere in the 05 to 06 range…and honda CRVs….they all are still in the 14k to 18k range ….

I’ve found some good deals on CraigsList…..you just have to play the game and be willing to walk away with out the truck if you can’t get what you want : )

also toyotas just like hondas ……just hold value ….they are known to go into the 200k mile mark with out major issues

Q: are toyota tacoma and 4runners good vehicles?
i like the look of them but all of them that i see for sale are really high priced and have like 150-300,000km for like 10-16 thousand dollars, is this still a good deal, whats the average amount of km a toyota vehicle gets before breaking down for major repairs

A: These are exceptionally tough vehicles particularly the deisel which if you wish will run on bio deisel, as for the average kms it will depend on how the car has been used, if it has had frequent off road abuse and/or poor maintainence then this will seriously decrease the life span of almost all its parts. A good example should have less than 180,000 kms as most toyota engine that have been maintained will create their peak performance and power at around 150000 where every parts is well set and at maximum efficiency. Try to steer clear of imported vehicles such as the ’surf’ luxury 4runner which came with a turbo petrol engine but was less reliable than its simple brothers.
Also check if a service history of some kind is avaliable, if it by a non dealer workshop then it can pay to visit them and ask about previous work carried out, this can give you a valuable insight into what things have been replaced or recurring problems that have ocurred.
As for the average life span of these toyotas, with proper constant maintainence they are capable of living well past 400,000 kms before major engine componants are likely to wear out.
If you arent completely convinced of the bulletproofness of these models then you should watch the british tv series called top gear where i believe that they put on of the tacomas to the ultimate test, bashing, burning and even drowning it in the sea of bristol it was revived by one mecahnic, a couple of spanners and screwdrivers and a bottle of WD-40.
In short these utilities are pure engineering and earn their seemingly high resale prices assuming they are in good health.
Good luck with the hunt!

Q: are toyota tacoma and toyota 4runners good vehicles?

A: Anything built by Toyota is good. I’ve been fixing cars for 25 years and I drive only Toyota. I don’t get paid to fix mine.

Q: Car dealerships are always advertising a particular vehicle I want on the internet.?
I sometimes call to see if this Toyota Tacoma is still for sale and today when I called, I had already researched the vehicle they were selling. Their asking price was $2300 dollars over the maximum blue book price. Are most dealerships swindlers? Do they expect me to negotiate the price down by $2300 dollars. Do most of them tell wild stories about the hx of the car? The salesman expected me to believe the Toyota Tacoma was traded in for a Ford Ranger.

A: There are a few dealers out there who actually recondition used cars. Which includes the engine, transmission, interior, brakes, tires, suspension, et cetera. And usually they come with a warranty. You may want to inquire about that.

The dealership may just be greedy tho ;)

Q: Does anyone know what the charge/fine is for a second DUI?
My brother in law got his second DUI last night (GEEZ). He got his first one under the age of 18… now he is 22. Does the punishment matter for the state (CA), or the circumstances… (he was in a drive thru and a cop went up to his window) or does anyone know where I can find out the info on punishment? Asking because my guy really wants his brother to move to where we live and get out of that black hole of destruction that is our home town… lol. Anyways, I hope he learned his lesson, I’m thinking he might have to sale his 1999 Toyota Tacoma to pay the fine, which I thought was a universal $10,000.00 for a seconf offense. BUT I would appreciate any info.

A: Your brother in law is not going to Pelican Bay State Prison for 12 years for his second offense DUI. The person who said that does not have their facts in order.

You’re probably not going to get a 100% correct answer here, but you can start by reading the law on the issue.

Go here:

http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/calaw.html

And search for sections 23540 and 23542 of the Vehicle Code. They pretty much spell out what the punishment can be…but ultimately, it’s up to the judge what it will be (though it’s VERY unlikely it will be outside the parameters of the statutory law).

Frequently, juvenile convictions don’t count once a person turns 18. However, I don’t *think* that’s the case for DUI…I think it counts against him as much as if he had been an adult. I don’t that for certain, and it might make a real difference.

Don’t get overly excited about the cop walking up to your brother in law at a drive-up window being the way “out” of this case. Ordinarily, if your brother-in-law was stopped at a drive-up (or in a parking lot or at a stop light or ….), and the police just walked up to him and said hello, he’d be toast because the police don’t need probable cause to contact someone like that so there’s no probable cause to be litigated.

I admire your desire to get your brother-in-law out of his home town. However, if you’re doing that to help him avoid contact with law enforcement and not to help him stop drinking irresponsibly, you’re only postponing the inevitable. His issue is not that the police seem to have frequent run-ins with him, his issue is that he seems to be drinking and driving frequently and only getting caught twice. I’d worry much more about that, if I were you and your husband.

My .02 cents. Good luck.

Q: 2005 Toyota Tacoma 2.7?
Just bought an ‘05 Tacoma with the 2.7 I4. Occasionally it has been hard to start and today if finally set an error code for the crank sensor. Truck only has 40K. I quickly tried to locate the crank sensor but without a manual I had no luck. Does anyone know if the sensor is on the front or rear of the block? Also, anyone answering this might know a little about Toyotas with the 2.7…..I have read some articals tonight about major problems with piston slap and bad cranks for 2000 to 2004’s. Does anyone know if the 2.7 was redesigned in 2005? If not…I might put this thing up for sale. I do not need that type of problem. This thing has 40K on it….I dont need another vehicle to work on all the time.

A: Well you went out and bought a Toyota and it turned out to be a piece of crap…. Happened to my best friend too

Q: 2000 Toytota Tacoma 2WD for sale….?
that I am looking at. However it has 146000 miles, but it is a sharp looking truck, and I am not turned off by that many miles, especially since it is a Toyota. Its automatic, v6, 2wd, which sucks, but it is an amazing looking truck. What do you think? Too many miles, or should I be okay?

A: As long as you rebuild the engine every 150,000 to 200,000 miles, it should last for 500,000 miles, except for the frame.

Q: How much should I spend for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma?
I am buying a brand new 2011 Toyota Tacoma. The version I am going to get is a V6 4.0, Sport TRD Package, 4X4, double cab. I am curious to know how much I should negotiate for (sales price). I went online and “built” my own. The price at the end came out to $31, 400. I obviously don’t won’t to spend that much. If this helps you answer my question better, I also have good credit (720-750).

1) What would you be a good price to buy this vehicle at? How should I negotiate for that price? I am not to savvy when it comes to negotiating. Any tips?

2) I am planning on putting down $15,000 -$17,000 is this too much? The reason why I am doing this is because I want low payments. (Less than 300 a month preferred)

Thank you for your time.

A: Find out invoice and negotiate up from there.

By law they have to provide you with the invoice. Which is how much the Dealer pays for the Truck from Toyota.

I would say $1,000-$2,000 Profit is good.

There’s no such thing as putting down too much lol. That sounds about right your payments should be low and make sure you get a rock bottom interest rate when you put down more than 50%.

Q: Toyota recall questions…?
I’ve been gone out of country for quite a while and am completely lost on this Toyota recall, I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma, 2.7L 4 banger, and a 2007 Toyota FJ with the 4.0 V6. Are either of these vehicles part of the recall? I know that toyota issued a floor mat recall with the Tacoma but mine wasn’t affected..
Also, as of thus, how much has this affected Toyota’s overall sales and how long will it take them to recover?
( My 96 F-250 hasn’t had a recall and its 14 years old..sad sad sad )
I don’t want your idiotic feedback about my Ford. Screw you both. I just want to know about the damn toyota recalls.

A: But your F-250 is still a piece of crap, period.

About your Toyota’s you purportedly own…NICE TRY DUDE!

Q: 2002 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner?
Hi guys, I have a 2002 4-door prerunner and I just called 4wheelparts to order rims that I had been wanting for quite some time. I just called them and the sales rep told me that the rim won’t fit on my truck. This is it

http://www.4wheelparts.com/prodDetai…=BRW900B586037

Anyway, the guy said I won’t be able to fit ANY aftermarket 15″ rim on my truck because of the calipers. Is this true? I find it funny that no one has mentioned this to me in the past.

Thanks, in advance, for your alls info!!!!

A: A 15 inch wheel? I doubt it.

16 should work easily as I believe that’s what’s stock.

Nobody puts on 15’s anymore.

excet for the bumper.

any help would be appreciated thankyou.

A: 3 inch body lift should run you about $250-$400.
And you can do it in your garage if you have some basic tools,
And some block to put the body on while you lift it.
Really not at complicated as it might sound.

3 inch chassis lift (much better by the way) will run you close to $800-$1400 installed. Not something you can do yourself unless you got a coil press, welder and know-how, and alot of time.

Q: Toyota Thailand?
Is the Toyota Tacoma Pick Up Truck (Nth American model) manufactured and for sale in Thailand. If so, any idea which dealer in Thailand sells them ?

A: No. Thailand only has the Hilux.
