A: The challenger would earn all the titles of the organizations sanctioning the fight. In the event that only one of the organizations sanctioning a title fight in which WK loses, the titles belonging to the other organizations become vacant. The ring magazine title is a different beast in that the holder of that belt is determined by the writers of the magazine, so it doesn’t necessarily mean that the guy that beats WK will automatically have that belt bestowed upon him.

I want to reproduce a counted cross stitch using a pattern of any of JD Challenger’s artwork. He does those stunning Native American paintings. I’ve found a sight that does classical to early 19th century paintings but haven’t found any by Challenger. Any ideas?

A: It doesn’t appear that he’s licensed his work to be reproduced as a cross stitch pattern. If you had a print and a pattern-making program, you could always make it for yourself (but don’t try to sell it or you might be slapped with a copyright violation lawsuit!)

I think the Challenger will have a wee bit more HP/Torque but is a little heavier than the camaro. What are your thoughts? Also what is the 1/4 mile time for both? Top speed?

A: I already know thw 0-60time and the top speeds of them, but I don’t know the 1/4 mile time.

The Chevy Camaro will hav the current 400HP/400Torque Pontiac GTO and Corvette engine.
0-60mph in 4.9 seconds just like the GTO.
Top speed will be around 170mph, but it will most likely be limited to 155mph like most cars.
The Dodge Challender has more power, but it is heavier.
It has a 0-60 time of 5.1 seconds. The same as the Dodge Charger SRT-8, which has the same engine and shape.
Top speed should be 170mph because that is how fast the Charger goes.
The 1/4 miles time for the Challenger will be the same as the Charger SRT-8. Just search on yahoo “Dodge Charger SRT-8 1/4 mile”

If you put your finger in the ignition hole of a 2009 Challenger without the laser key, why does it make two beeping sounds, and the little red light located in instrument panel flash twice? Also, why do the gauges move about one centimeter upward for a quick second? I’m really curious to know, is this a bad idea?

A: It is simply part of the security system in the car. Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep products use what is called the Sentry System. The ignitions in most of these newer products are electronic and read a code off of a chip located inside of your key. If the code in the key does not match the car will not start and usually this will lock up the steering column, fuel system, ignition system etc…. to prevent someone from being able to take your car without the proper key. The beeping and light flashing is just a warning because you are manipulating the ignition. The warning goes off to deter someone who is trying to bypass the ignition in some way or someone who is trying to hotwire the car. If the ignition continues to be toyed with the system will eventually lock out certain car functions because it believes someone is trying to steal the vehicle.

Q: how was the challenger disaster a turning point in history?
the challenger explosion was a major disaster in the space program, just years after they had began. what results of the explosion changed our history? programs, modifcations in the NASA program, etc.

A: I remember it well. I would back off of the “turning point” description because NASA had gone through some bad experiences before like when Grissom and 2 others died in the fire in the cockpit and then the most recent explosion of the space shuttle over Texas.

The reason Challenger was devastating was because there had been so much publicity because of Christa MacAuliffe, the first teacher in space. So many young school children were watching the lift-off and it exploded before their very eyes. It was a senseless tragedy. It seemed to take a long time to determine that it was the O-ring that caused it.

I think the funding diminished for NASA because of huge budget deficits and unclear, seemingly fruitless objectives.

Q: does anyone have a schematic for rewiring an old challenger ch30 amp into a guitar amp?
I’ve got a really old challenger ch30 amplifier that is in good working order. Can it be rewired into a guitar amp using the same tubes/transformers etc. I can get new caps and resistors at radio shack if need be.

A: The easiest way to use a PA amp as a guitar amplifier is to simply get either a pre-amp (you can make one yourself if you’d like to save some money), or a good EQ pedal to put in front of it.

But, if you still want to rewire, the best way to go about it is pretty simple:

*find what components you already have and want to reuse (ie, your tubes and transformers)

*find what components or features you want to add (eg – reverb, eq)

*find a brand or model of another amplifier that contains roughly the combination of what you have/want (try Bogner!)

*go to the maker’s website and search for schematics – for example, if you go to Fender’s website, you can find the schematics for every product they ever made. 90% of the time, you can find them.

*buy components, and solder it all together!

You aren’t going to find many tutorials on how to convert an old Bogen to a guitar amp. Any tutorial that you find is basically going to say what I did above.

By the way, don’t buy components at Radio Shack…they are REALLY expensive and of pretty poor quality. Try www.jameco.com , they are load cheaper and have much better quality stuff.

Oh, one last HUGE bit of info – you need to make absolutely sure that the transformers and tubes you are using are compatible with the circuit you are creating. If you don’t, you could very easily start your amp (and house) on fire.

I want reasons and comparisons if you could. Please put all biase aside. I was thinking it was the challenger but i wasnt sure.

A: That depends. What are the operational requirements the vehicles have to meet?

Armchair generals look at a piece of equipment and go “I like that one, I think its really neat. That’s the best.” Real militaries formulate a set of requirements for a piece of equipment to meet. Then they hold a competition to design a piece of equipment to meet those requirements OR they hold a competition to test equipment that already exists that might meet the requirements. Challenger, Leopard, the Abrams – they were all designed to unique national requirements. How do you propose to judge them without some baseline set of requirements of your own. And I’m not talking about the Chimpanzee stuff like having thermal sights or whatever. Real requirements include things like lifecycle costs, overhaul periods, fuel consumption, training hours etc. You know, boring stuff.
