Q: How much would it cost to drop my 94 camaros suspension?
And would it be cheaper if I only did the front? Would it be ok to do it that way too? I’ve seen some that are like that and I thought it looked pretty cool and if it’s cheaper I’ll definitly do it.

A: Between $2500 to $4500 depending on which kit you use. Add an additional $700 to $1000 if you must pay a mechanic to install this kit for you.

Q: How can I lower my camaros suspension at home?
I got a 1994 z28. What tools do I need. Thx.

A: buy the lowering springs and the spring compressor for the front. you will most likely have to remove the front struts and lower the A arm ic you would need an impact and impact sockets to do and wrenches. ad then on the back you unbolt the rear struts from the axle while the car is held up in the air by the frame supports, not the axle. that will allow the axle to drop enough to slide the rear springs out and install th new ones. then put everything back together reverse of how you took it apart. good luck!

Q: How safe are the thirdgen 1980s camaros?
They seem pretty heavy and the doors and hood are thick heavy steel but the suspension and frame seems to be where they saved weight. 3300 pounds or so for my model.

A: all i can say is when i got hit from a standstill from behind by someone doing around 40mph and had my muffler pushed up to where my back seat is, i walked away without a scratch and was still able to salvage my 89 iroc

Q: How can i better manage my 2010 camaros MPG?
Its a Manual transmission..and im just curious to tips to better manage my average mpg.
Does it eat up less gas if u shift to higher gears? or is it better on gas to stay on lower gears?

A: The very best way is to stay in the highest gear possible, but accelerate slowly. If you are in a high gear and still try to accelerate fast more gas would be used, and higher revs are defiantly going to ruin your gas mileage.

Q: Does anyone know how many third generation camaros were painted hugger orange from the factory?
I just like to know how rare this color is. I’m rebuilding mine and was thinking of going with this color. I’ve seen several 1st, 2nd, and fourth gen. this color but no thirds.

A: i dont believe any third gens were hugger

Q: is the fan shroud on the 1980 camaro deeper than other camaros?
i just bought a shroud from a yard it didn’t fit, the camaro was a 78 or 79 mine is an 80,i installed a 350. an it seems to sit back a little,do i need the deep shroud or how good are the aftermarket chrome shrouds?

A: i ahd a 77 camaro with 350 installed a chrome shroud from summit acing worked fine and looked good as to your ? i thought they would be the same unless the one you got from the yard came off a camaro with a 6 cylinder

Q: When do they start selling the new Chevy Camaros?

A: Chevrolet began accepting orders for the 2010 Camaro in October, 2008. They were delivered to the dealerships in late April/early May this year. IF you can find one, it’s probably got a V6 engine in it. IF you want one, expect to pay sticker price or more for one. The 2010 Camaro is in extremely high demand.

Q: I need to know how many 4spd Z28 camaros were produced in 1981?
I have a 1981 Z28 camaro that has a 4spd trannsmission in it and I would like to know how many were produced. I’m tring to restore it and would like to use as many orignal parts as possible.

A: 1981 Camaro Production: 52,004 V6, 74,135 V8,
126,139 total.
z28 4speed Total Production: 43,272

Q: Do people drive Trans Ams and Camaros in your neck of the world?
what you think of this style of car? and what it reminds you of? which movies, song genres? do you think that is why people bought them too? please explain. and which country and region of world are you in? how long been popular there?

A: LOL outdated vehicles….reminds me of my childhood my mom had one because at that time they were popular. They are very much around every corner here. I’m from south Louisiana so that should explain it!! lol

Q: Are the doors off of a 1984 Chevy Camaro Berlinetta interchangeable with the doors off of same year camaros?
The body is slighty different wondering if anyone knows if it is the same doors as similar iroc’s and such

A: The difference is in the trim package actual body is same. go to any car scrap yard they have a model cross reference book that will tell you what parts will cross. model & year

Q: Why are Camaros so much better than Mustangs?
I used to think it was just my personnal opinion because I am a Camaro owner. Then I read all these magazines and they all seem to agree.

A: Lets start at the beginning….the Camaro was born in 1967..Chevy already had the Impala and Chevelle but they needed a pony car challenger to the Mustang…which was already 3 years old…did’nt really have much to offer in engine options and horsepower until Carroll Shelby stuffed that 428 in one, gave it some style, and then you had a real muscle car..before then it was like the Thunderbird, only small and sporty…something for the young people to drive…but the Camaro came with the 302…you could get 350 or 396 cid V-8…you could also stuff the 427, 454, or 502 in there…the aftermarket 454….even a 383…if you want….Camaros were lighter and faster…with more horsepower…even it’s Pontiac twin, Firebird was weaker without special modifications…after the 400 and 455…what other choices were there available to you?…..The 69 Camaro to me is the baddest of them all…only the Charger was more irrestiable and that car was heavy…swerving all over the place…even with the 426 Hemi…even after the pollution laws hit, Camaro kept the Z-28 going with that 350 option….while the Stang became the Mustang II in 1974….it did’nt regain conciousness until 1986 or 88…the 5.0 emerged but did’nt become a serious contender until Roush, Saleen, and SVT got to tinkering on those babies….I have to admit that the Cobra R is bad to the bone…but when Ligenfelter or Calloway gets a hold of a late 90’s or early 2000’s Camaro….there is no contest…sharing engines and basic components with Vettes….all the cars need are upgrades…Mustang has no other shared platform…Taurus? Focus? Thunderbird? Fairlane?…Mercury is gone..no Cougar…GM has Pontiac and Chevy as well as Cadillac to experiment with…well, they did until 2002…as far as the Camaro and Firebird are concerned…..Right now, Mustang has the limelight with their GT500 but soon, the Camaro SS and Z-28 will be back to reclaim the throne as true American muscle…more bang for your buck.

Q: When will the price of used 2010 camaros drop?
as of now people are selling 2010 camaros with even 10k miles on them for basically full retail i understand they are still really new but when do you project the v6 could drop below 20k?

A: Novelty will wear off and they will drop like all other cars. Give it six months.

Q: what material are 3rd gen camaros made of?
i always though they were like metal but now im not sure. also i know they are not tht quick but why do they have quite an good top speed? its 150mph for the 87 IROC-Z 350TPI.

A: Not that quick?
there have not been many years that a new Camaro could not out tun a new Mustang (we won’t even mention Dodge because they do not have a car in the came ballpark).
A 350 T.P.I. Is a very strong motor and will move a F-Body very nicely down the road.

They are made of steel aluminum and plastic.

Q: How much room do the new camaros have for the people in the back seats?

A: Jay Ferry-
For the 2011 and 2010 Chevrolet Camaro model years, a consumer will have 35.30 inches of head room in the rear seating area. For the rear shoulder room the vehicle has 42.50 inches. There is 29.90 inches of rear leg room.

Q: Do the tops of T-top Camaros have transparent panels like a moon roof?
If you are sitting inside a t-top style Camaro can you see out the top like a sunroof? I want a camaro but don’t want a convertible. I would love a t-top if you can see out the top like a moon roof but if you can’t see through I won’t worry about getting one with a t-top.
Just to clarify, I mean see out the top like a moon roof while the t-top panels are on the car. Obviously when they’re off you can see out the top.

A: Yes the T tops on camaros are glass panels, tinted with dark tint from the factory.

You can look up and see through them
