Q: How to check oil pressure on a 2006 dodge charger?
2006 dodge charger 3.5L. Has lifter noise on start up, den decreases after 7 to 10 minutes. Could it be that oil isnt getting to the hydraulic lifters fast enough?

A: There is a TSB about that, which I have posted in other answers on here. Well known for 2005, 2006 and 2007 models. Some are just noisy while some it is actual damage to the valve train. Unless they open it up you won’t know for certain.

A: Do your actually mean the fan speed only operates on high? then you have a bad blower motor resistor.

blower motor 101…all blower motors are built to work at only one speed, the resistor is installed to allow the end user to adjust the speed of the fan from low to med to high…

call your local dodge dealer and get price and avail for the blower resistor

Hey there, tomorrow i plan on going to finally buy my frist newer car. I plan on taking a loan out for a Dodge Charger, so the less the price the better. What I need is to know what a good price on a 2006 Dodge Charger is, maybe with 90k miles on it? I’m going to a dealer, so lets say the price is marked at 14k, how low can i talk him down? I need advice and quick!

A: i wouldn’t buy one with that many miles on it ,that’s way to many miles for that year of a car,the asking price on one with that many miles should be around 10-13 thousand and no more,but depending on what option package it has you may get it for less,use the mileage to bring the price of it down,and the condition of it,mileage always works to lower the price of any vehicle,good luck.

A: o2 sensor or map sensor is plugged! replace them first, then if that doesn’t fix it you will probably need to check your fuel pump and filter to see if they are bad.

Q: Why is my 2006 Dodge Charger stall out when the accellerator pedal is at full throttle and at stoplights?
I have had this vehicle at my shop a couple of times and talked with local dodge dealership techs with no answer. It has 125k miles, new tune-up, bg induction cleaning, new cam sensor, new egr valve with the latest pcm flash and transmission fluid level is proper height. Also right before it stalls out a chime is heard.

A: I knew a guy who had an early 2000’s neon with simular problems.
It had a 4 speed auto but the computer thought it was a 3 speed auto.

Q: How do i remove the body side molding off a 2006 dodge charger without damaging the paint/body?
I want to give my charger a cleaner look by removing the body side molding, but i don’t no if it’s a job i can do myself or if i have to take it to a bodyshop. If anybody has done this before, please give me some advice.

A: 1. you need to check w/ the parts department at a Dodge dealer. see this trim piece first hand new. Is it plastic bolted on or just 2 side taped.

2. if it has plastic bolts.. you are out of luck. cause that means under the trim is holes in the door skins. to remove the moldings will leave holes.

3. if just 2 sided taped, can be removed a few ways

a. using a heat gun, warm the trim up and slide a plastic putty knife under the edge and start pulling. Take your time. Each side should take at least 10 minutes this way.

b. using some dental floss or fishing line, slide this behind the trim and move the line back and forth and use it like a saw and cut the 2 sided tape in half. this works but leaves such a mess of tape residue that you sit for the next few hours picking it all off.

c. whichever way you go… once its off. lacquer thinner will remove the glue/tape reside. otherwise it will need waxed up where the tape was.

A: depends on the owners driving and sometimes credit history and their age among other things

My Charger and I were driving downt he highway and my wheel started shaking, it felt like it was going to fall off! So I went to Discount Tire and they told me my wheel bearing on the front drivers side was either loose or needed to be replaced I just wanted to know how much to spend so I dont get taken advantage of.

A: it is 1 hour labor i charge $50 and the wheel hub / bearing $100 approx that would be my estimate but i am cheep expect to pay $175 to $250 for the job

A: GS Motorsports does have a complete system for this application. It should bring it up to around 400 HP at the wheels, which is around a 130 HP increase over stock. This is over 500 HP at the flywheel. The down side of these systems is that it usually takes around 3-6 weeks for GS to build these systems.

Q: Anybody know how much the 18” stock wheels weight on a 2006 dodge charger rt?
I’m thinking about changing my wheels on my charger to either a new set of 18’s or some 20’s but i want to buy some wheels that weight less or the same as my stock 18” wheels.

A: if there steel rims then they weigh about 15 lbs with tire, aluminum will weigh about 10 each with tire. If you want the same weight or less your going to have to stay with an aluminum rim which you can get in chrome or brushed/polished, and 20’s would be out cus they weigh around 25 lbs each with low profile tires.

A: Lambo (vertical) doors are so played-out and old that not even Lambo’s have them any more…

A: it will be pretty high on you if you get it solely in your name,if you get it through your parents name and they add you as a part time driver its going to be a lot cheaper and better,my nephew is on his moms car and its charger and its 75 bucks a month extra for him to drive it and him 19 years old,and they ,ll base a lot of it on where you live at and the they also go by the theft rate of cars your state has,your driving record and whether the car is the v-8 or the v-6 model they,ll consider all this when insuring you,so shop around for the best price that you can find and the most coverage,make sure that when you get a cheaper quote on it that you don’t get cheated out of good coverage,good luck ,drive safely.

Q: Why do my 2006 Dodge Charger headlights turn off and on while driving?
My dashboard and other lights in my car are fine. so i was sure its not the battery. and when I turned of my car and switched the lights off, they stayed on and kept turning off and on. HELP!

A: If you have the automatic headlight option, it could be that your sensor is getting confused by street lights, or sunlight being blocked by trees or other obstacles. It could be a faulty switch as well, but the most simple and cost-effective thing to look at right now would be the fuse that controls headlight operation. You can check your owners manual to see which fuse that is.

Q: My 2006 Dodge Charger turns the engine off when the tires spin. How can I turn this feature off?
This “safety” feature has made my car get stuck for months at a time because of heavy snow, not to mention almost made me crash. It also doesn’t allow me to have as much “fun”. The manual says there’s a button on the dash but i don’t see such a thing. How can i turn this idiotic feature off?

A: The Traction Control Off Switch (TCS OFF or ASR OFF on Export vehicles) is part of the Instrument Panel Switch Pod located in the center of the instrument panel. The traction control Off switch turns the traction control off whenever the switch is depressed. Depressing the switch a second time turns the traction control back on. The switch resets itself each time the ignition is cycled.

Look for the hazzard light button, to the right of that will be a light telling you if the passenger side airbag is on or off then to the right of that will be a button that says TCS OFF.
