Q: is there a Nissan Gt-r 1999 in the us that is for sale?
i can only find it in japan for some reason

A: GT-Rs weren’t sold in the US until the new R35 went on sale. The only way you’ll find one in the US is if some idiot paid a ridiculous amount of money to have one imported and modified to meet US laws. There are a few, but they’re very expensive, and very hard to find.

Q: The Nissan GT-R just beat the Porsche Turbo and BMW M3, how will this affect BMW and Porsche sales?
Here are the videos:

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=124973

For half the money of a Porsche turbo, the GT-R is faster on track and acceleration. How will this affect the competition if there is any?

A: No matter what you do to it, it is still a Nissan. You will have plenty of boobs living in the suburbs going oooh-ahhh and buying them. However, I assure you that said boobs would rather have a Porsche.

I have an ‘06 911 Carrera 4s and love it. I’d gladly drop another $80k on a second 911 before I’d spend $80k, let alone $40k on a Nissan.

Q: the new GTR specs for the us?
US SPEC INFORMATION: The 2009 Nissan GT-R will go on sale in the United States in June of 2008 with a base price of $69,850. The premium model will sell for $71,900, and will include a Bose sound system, side airbags, and heated seats. The Bose system consists of 11 speakers mounted in rigid aluminum diecast panels. The car’s pre-order program, available through select US dealers, will begin in January.

2009 Nissan GT-R: Awesome From Afar

The 2009 Nissan GT-R has broken cover. Or rather, several well-known automotive media outlets have blown its cover! When the December 2007 cover of Motor Trend got leaked (or swiped) from the printer, press embargoes were tossed aside, along with it the thin veil of secrecy the GT-R was still hiding. Namely its off-the-chart performance numbers: 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, 11.7-second quarter mile, and top speed of 193 mph. Better still, the supercar is expected to be in the amazingly affordable $70-80K range.

Unveiled at Last

The black covers that hid the GT-R’s nose are gone and reveal a chiseled carbon fiber nose piece, flanked on both sides by small canards molded into the bumper itself. Look closely, and you can see how the deep front splitter directs air to the radiator and around the car. The sleek shape of the new R35 is a commendably slick 0.27 Cd (co-efficient of drag). Twin NACA ducts in the hood channel air directly to the small IHI turbos located underneath. They’re not the only low-drag aero devices used on the car, either. The front fenders have functional air ducts that sweep back from the sides of the car, drawing heat away from the engine compartment. One detail not readily apparent is the rear carbon-fiber splitter that uses airflow under the chassis to develop downforce. While standard practice for LeMans prototypes, these types of details are reserved for only a few road-going machines. Nissan engineers knew the enormous performance envelope for this car would require every (aero) trick in the book! Rear styling of the R35 features the iconic twin round taillights of the GT-R series. All in all, Nissan stylists have created a modern, functional shape that pays appropriate homage to the legendary line.

V-6 Power First for GT-R

Looking under the hood of the new PM (Prime Midship) chassis reveals the front-mounted engine is mounted far back for better weight distribution. But there’s no blown straight six for this thoroughly modern supercar. The new twin turbocharged 3.8 liter V-6 is named the VR38 and puts out 473 hp at 6,400 rpm and 433 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm in its initial state of tune. No doubt Nissan will have more on tap for the future, but all appearances suggest that this is the engine to be federalized for North American use. Expect the compact IHI turbos to have little to none of the dreaded turbo lag of years past. An extremely clean turbo installation utilizes separate plenums and tuned intake runners for each bank of the engine. Expect to hear more details on this amazing powerplant in the near future.

Meanwhile, a carbon fiber prop shaft transfers power to the rear- mounted transaxle. Utilizing a six-speed, direct-drive semi-automatic gearbox, Nissan’s latest AWD creation can vary power delivery from 50/50 (front/rear) to 2/98 for heavy acceleration. By utilizing the paddle shifters, GT-R pilots may sample full-throttle, no lift upshifts, and computer-guided downshifts with full rev matching. The GT-R’s suspension is more familiar, with twin wishbones up front and a five-link rear. The dampers are electronically controlled, with three separate programs (race, sport and comfort) available at the touch of a button. More extreme are the 20” alloy wheels with massive six-piston Brembo (front) and four-piston (rear) calipers with equally enormous 15.2” rotors. You’ll need that kind of stopping power, as the latest R35 is expected to tip the scales at a touch over 3,792 pounds.

Silken Hammer

Inside the cockpit, it’s luxury blended with pure performance. Racing-style leather seats with large side bolsters will hold you (and your passengers) in place, although I’m not sure anyone really wants to be tossed around in the smallish 2+2 seats in back! A beautifully sculpted instrument panel features a center-mounted tach (with a 7K redline) and a smaller speedo on the left. The instruments move up and down with the steering wheel, so each driver can find the perfect position. Nissan continues their superb job in blending traditional control surfaces with cutting edge technology. A good example is the center stack with traditional HVAC controls in the center and a large video screen just above this. Toggling through this display provides such diverse information as turbo boost, g-loadings, engine performance parameters and which of the really hot girls is lusting for a ride in your new GT-R. OK, I made that last one up. Step into the new R35 and you’ll find everybody wants a ride!

A: Bad ass. I’ve wanted one since i saw the nurburgring shots 2 years ago. Nissan knows how to build it. Finally, godzilla in the us.

Q: My nissan dealer did…..?
I am a tech at a medium size nissan dealer in the northeast. Apperently while setting up the sales infastructure for the upcoming sales launch for the GT-R the dealers were asked to sign a sales contract to sell the car. My dealer and one other in the NE decided not to sell the gt-r. That is fine with me.
The issue is that after talking to an instructor in somerset we were told that we could not enroll in a training class designed around the gt-r! So if a customer that purchases his gt-r outside our dealer and has an issue he needs repaired,we will be left in the dark about the specific systems in the car. I suppose we can only apply basic automotive knowledge and nissans technical service manual to the issue. Thats fine to, but every tech knows that is not always enuf. Does anyone know this to be be set in stone? Also, if anyone has experiance with nissan training, will this affect my (seemingly) never ending ambition to become a Nissan Master tech?

A: To bad dude your dealership will not have the special tools either. A real bad sign when a dealership will not invest in the latest technology and special alignment rack for four wheel drive low slung car. Try to change there minds!
I made the case that the advertizing alone will bring in customers who want to see the super car and we only get three based on last years 350Z sales. The 14 of January is the deadline ask your sales department how many GTR’s they qualify for.
The dealerships investment is huge over $20,000 for special tools even Nitrogen tire filling equiptment. One master technician possably ME gets a week in Memphis. Four months ago SuperTech training was to be held in Japan and would last one month DARN I was ready to drive around Kobe Japan.

Q: The Nissan GT-R just beat the Porsche Turbo and BMW M3, how will this affect BMW and Porsche sales?
Here are the videos:

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/d…

For half the money of a Porsche turbo, same price as the BMW M3, the GT-R is faster on track than a bugatti and porsche, with an acceleration time from 0-60 of 3.2 seconds Faster than a Ferrari Enzo). How will this affect the competition if there is any?
Sorry, the link above is broken, go to this link:

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=124973
I don’t know where EuroStud gets his info from but the GT-R’s 0-60 time of 3.2 sec is from edmunds insideline. Nissan claims the GT-R will go at least 3.5 seconds and Porsche only claims a 0-60 time of 3.6 sec for the GT2. I would just expect a Porsche to cost more than 3 times as much to be faster than the GT-R, a Nissan.

A: I love all three of these cars, but I doubt that the GT-R’s awesome engineering will affect the sales of either German car. People who buy that Porsche are buying it mostly for it’s “awe” factor. When you see a 911 Turbo, you instantly think of how successful the driver must be. Those who buy the M3 are usually hardcore German car enthusiasts who would slit their wrists if the M3 seized production. People who buy BMWs are some of the most brand-loyal people on earth (there is just something about a BMW that feels very different than anything else). The Nissan GT-R is going to appeal to a completely different audience. Probably younger, successful people who want it purely because it is so freakin’ fast. I doubt older people who have always been driving enthusiasts would even take a glance at the GT-R, mainly because it does not have a traditional manual transmission and it looks very futuristic, rather than expensive and fashionable. If I had to choose between the 3 cars, I think I would go for the M3. The Porsche is too expensive and cramped inside and the GT-R just looks too “video-game-ish” for me, if you get what I’m trying to say. I would also miss using a standard manual with the GT-R, which has a manu-matic gearbox.

For half the money of a Porsche turbo, same price as the BMW M3, the GT-R is faster on track than a Bugatti Veyron and Porsche Turbo and GT3, probably GT2 too, with an acceleration time from 0-60 of 3.2 seconds (Faster than a Ferrari Enzo).
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=124973

A: I dont think it will effect the other companies ,the GTR has always been a challenge for the Porsche and the M3 in its try running power and this has never bothered them before.
Also owning a M3 and Porsche is more of a status symbol whilst the GTR has a different image and will appeal to different buyers .
Myself i would pick the GTR over any of the others.

As for the answer above about a bad Maxima etc a shame we had one and it was one of the best cars we ever had.Where on our 5th Nissan atm and i def want another one. next.

A: try putting that up on craigslist

Q: What is the best website to find used 2002-2004 ford mustangs for sale in the Bay Area?

A: It depends on what bay area you’re talkin about

Q: 1974 Ford Mustang II on sale for $3500?
I’ve seen a 1974 Mustang II on sale for $3500, it has a 302 V8 which came from a 1985 Ford Mustang GT, Holley Carb, C4 transmission, K&N filter, flowmasters, it also has factory air conditioning and it has a new paint job and the car has around 325-350bhp, the car can run a quarter mile in the low 13’s.

Is $3500 a good value for this car considering that it has a V8 engine and it’s a very fast car?

A: I have owned three Mustang IIs, and have had fun with each one. The 74 never came with a V8, but can be retrofitted if the engine was equipped with the oil pan, oil pickup, and exhaust headers or manifolds from a 75-78 II. I would buy it as long as the interior isn’t trashed out, and the body isn’t full of rust. Ask the previous owner if there was any body repair, and do a thorough check of the fender wells to check for any repairs. I still own two Mustang IIs, although I am using one for parts for the other since aftermarket and restoration supplies are hard to find. Too many people discredit these cars, and it really isn’t warranted. They really saved the Mustang model line from certain death. I would recommend the following websites for more info and fans of these cars.

Q: how do i figure out if 2000 ford mustang(v-6) has any problems?
so i see this 2000 ford mustang for sale 7grand from a little dealership, is there anyways i can tell if the car will run good? could i really trust the carfax.com? or any other advice about buying a 2000 ford mustangs !help! thanx
so i see this 2000 ford mustang for sale 7grand from a little dealership, is there anyways i can tell if the car will run good? how can i tell if its a lemon? could i really trust the carfax.com? or any other advice about buying a 2000 ford mustangs !help! thanx
^carfax (note: the last two milege report is wierd, 3 years only 200miles, did the dealer “cheat” or other reason?
and the dealer does give me 3 month or 5k miles warranty.

A: Usually zhao, all reputable dealerships will have their mechanics go through the car to see if it has any mechanical problems. But we know not all are totally honest with us. Let the car dealer know, you are going to take it to your personal mechanic, and have him look it over. If he’s been your or your families mechanic, for X amount of years, he will be honest with you and may not charge you anything to check it out. If he does charge you a nominal amount, it will be worth it, knowing your about to purchase a mechanically good or a lemon. This is also good advice if your looking at one from a private individual. Good Luck on the Mustang!

Q: 2007 Ford Mustang?
There is a 2007 Ford Mustang for sale with 30,000 miles on it for 14,500 including tax, title, and tags. Is this a good deal, and what do you think of the new mustangs?
-It is red with the premium package, just no leather seats.

A: Sounds like a fair price. I like the look, I think my next car is going to be a Mustang GT.

Q: Is this 2003 ford mustang worth buying?
There is a 2003 ford mustang for sale that I want to buy. It has just under 80,000 miles on it. It is a gt convertible v8 with a stick. I am buying this at a dealership, however I talked to them already and they said all there cars come sold as is. I have never owned a mustang and I was wondering if I should or should not buy this vehicle. Is there anything big that would have to be changed around that certain mileage. They are asking seven grand for it and I would be making payments on it. I don’t want to make a mistake and buy this and something goes out on it. If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

A: You tell us.

You didn’t tell us ANYTHING about the condition. All you stated was that it has 80k miles, which tells you nothing about how it runs, what shape it’s in, or anything else.

So seeing as you gave us nothing to use to estimate the value, how would we know?

Go research the car yourself, since you obviously don’t want us to help.

Q: how good is a 2000 ford mustang engine after 150k miles?
i recently got into a car accident where my car was totaled and i need a car fast but im on limited funds. i fould a nice 2000 ford mustang for sale thats in my price range, but it has 150k miles already on the car. i dont know much about cars but i do know that that is alot of milage. so if anyone know how good or reliable the car maybe PLEASE inform me. i dont want to get a car thats going to be in the shop or need work every other month. could i count on this vehicle to last me a few years???

A: I wouldn’t buy a car with that many miles as your just asking for a lot of troubles.

Q: Should i buy this 1996 Ford Mustang Gt?
So I found a v8 1996 ford mustang gt on sale with mileage of 136,000 miles. clean interior and exterior. no mechanical problems. clean title and tags. the guys is selling because he needs money asap since he’s in debt. $2500 is what he’s asking for since its already too cheap of a sale price. Is this a good deal or should i offer a little lower? thanks.

A: It’s a good deal BUT no matter how good deal is you ALWAYS offer lower to see if they will take it.

Q: is a 1974 Ford Mustang a good car?
the car im look at has a 4 cylinder engine, its used, and has mechanical damage.
Here is a link to it:

http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars_for_sale/1974_Ford_Mustang_125557011_98

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: 2007 Ford Mustang for firrst car??
Ok my dad knows this dude that owns a car lot and the dude that owns it goes to ford sales and he said he could get me one for about $10,000
My dad said that would be a good car for me, wut do you all think??

What about gas, maintenence, reliablity, power, ride comfort???

Would i enjoy this car?? we test drove one and we really liked it and thought it rode a little rough, maybe it was just that car, or the tires it had one it

A: Oh there is SOO much wrong information here from these other uninformed, biased people! Ok, here we go.
-Mustangs are just as reliable as any other car if you properly maintain them.
-Mustangs are not huge gas hogs, considering the performance you get in return. If you want 35 miles per gallon, buy a Focus. If you are redlining the car constantly from stoplight to stoplight, yes you will go through a lot of gas.
-Getting into a Mustang will NOT automatically jack up your insurance rates. When I was 21, I went from an Escort (4 cylinder) to a Mustang GT (V8) and my rates went DOWN. Why, you ask? Because I had a clean record. Your record matters way more than the car.
-If the one you drove felt rough, it may have been a GT, which has a little bit stiffer springs, or the tires were hard. Mine doesn’t ride rough at all.
-Don’t worry about long term reliability. My 1998 is past 135,000 miles and has never leaked, blown an engine or transmission, or anything like that. I got 30 miles per gallon once on a long highway trip. With mixed city and highway driving, I get 24 mpg all the time. Not exactly a gas hog.

Q: Ford Mustang 5.0 for sale in nebraska $3,600 obo?
It has 73,000 miles new cd player with ipod hook up
It is a 1984

A: Ford mustangs in FACT, actually have above average resale value. I dont know why people feel the need to be dishonest to try to bring mustangs down, I guess its because if they only use facts there really is not a whole lot of bad things you can say about ford or mustangs now a days. What year is the car you are talking about? If it is 1989 or newer that is a phenominal price and If you are the one selling it I will give you $3500 for it right now. Email me and we will make arrangements. That is a really good price for the car.

Q: Do you think i should be able to drive a mustang?
ok so theres a ford mustang for sale around the corner and i really want it but first my parents said that the gas would be to much and i looked it up and its actually not that much but now there saying that a v8 is to much for a 16 year old girl what do you guys think

A: I today’s economy and gas prices I wouldn’t recommend a V8 to ANYBODY. They’re testosterone ridden engines that aren’t needed.

Show them you are growing up by being aware of the daily costs of driving a V8 for both gas AND insurance. Look for something that is easier on your parents pocketbook.

Q: 65 ford mustang v-8 for sale?
I found a 65 4 barrel mustan v-8 with a 289 manual 4 speed tranny the car have headers and flowmasters, the a/c works and looks good for being that old no bondo minor scratches the car runs but it’s being sitting in the guy garange for like 10 years so I have to change all the fluids and some other parts he want’s 6k is this a good deal for how much this cars go
the parts for this car aren’t that hard to find cuz is one of the mayor classics so some stores carry the parts or other ones sell the aftermarket so is not that hard and they are expensive but not that much

A: buy it or in a few years they r going to be so expensive that maybe you won’t be able to aford it or if you do u will say anyways why I didn’t buy that cheap mustang back in the day
and the parts in this car r cheap well not that cheap but a decent price

Q: how much for a 2003 Ford Mustang Conv?
There’s a red ford mustang convertible for sale down the street from me, and it has been sale for acouple years now, looks like its in great condition, and i know it hasn’t been drove that much not sure about kms. it is auto transmission, about how much would you think its worth? This is in canada

A: Try kelleybluebook.com You just input all of the known information about the car and it always gives you a very accurate price range every time.

Q: Used car purchase: Audi vs Dodge (longevity is good?) Automobile buy repair sales bmw benz mustang ford?
I have heard good things about Audi longevity, many can last until 100k miles.
What about Dodge? I am planning to buy either a used Audi or Dodge Magnum, but will a Dodge hold up well past the 50,000 mile point? I have also heard that the Dodge Durango is bad for longevity but that is a SUV unlike the sedan Dodge Magnum.

A: I don’t know if I’ve ever heard anybody refer to any recent Audi as “reliable”.

I have many clients with Durango/Dakotas that are well past 150,000 miles.

Every Audi I have ever seen with over 120,000 miles has a LOT of valvetrain noise. Audi-philes defend their car’s capabilities but they don’t deny the clatter.

The Magnum is made up of various E and S-Class Mercedes bits. Those parts should be at least as good as any Audi. I hate the 2.7 V6 in anything Chrysler makes and don’t recommend it at all. It has(had) a sludging problem, the water pump is nearly impossible to access and it’s just too damn small for a big wagon.
The 3.5 is a little better. The 5.7 is a lot better

the one you want is a 97 with a turbo… who knows how hard is was driven. hopefully its a private seller and it has a clean title.

Everything custom

Q: mitsubishi eclipse 2000-2005 for sale?

A: There are many listings in the Los Angeles area. It’s a very popular car in California as well. If you want listings, go online, type the model and year in a search box like Yahoo! and you will return many responses from dealers, owners and the manufacturer too.

You’ll also get reviews from magazines, trade in offers and more. If that doesn’t satisfy your curiosity, then try the “Recycler” ads.

Good luck in your quest.

Q: anyone have an eclipse for sale ?
IM LOOKING FOR AN 2000-2003 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE IN GOOD CONDITION . I NEED A GOOD PRICE ALSO .
stop telling me what to get, i want an eclipse. i didnt ask you what car should i get.

A: They are not trying to be pricks about it… Mitsubishi’s have notoriously caused problems throughout their history. Plenty of people will refute this, and it really is just a chance with any other car. Yet as far as how they have come along, they are becoming a bit more reliable. I understand that if I wanted one really bad, I wouldnt care about how the “history” on it goes… but at the same time I would want to be sure to have something that would last and have good resale value which in the long run this car will have a harder time doing so…

NONE THE LESS (you probably hate me by now)
I would suggest going to autotrader.com and at the top, enter in the make of Mitsu and your local zip code, then it will ask for specific model and such and will show you listings of the cars that fit your criteria in your local area up to the amount of miles away that you say you want to look for. Also you can try this link to ebay and see if there are any local Eclipses that you could go and look for yourself…. DO NOT BUY IT UNLESS YOU CAN GO VIEW IT AND DRIVE FOR YOURSELF. someone on here just said they bought a sports car for their son and it was a lemon. So just be careful in your choices and have fun.

Here is the link to eBay http://motors.listings.ebay.com/_W0QQsocmdZListingItemList?sofocus=pf&sbrftog=1&socmd=ListingItemList&catref=C3&from=R2&satitle=&sacat=6001%26catref%3DC6%26curcat%3Dtrue&a39=1965&a41=10616&a38v1y=2000&a38v2y=2003&a10239=-24&a39705=-24&a10244=-24&alist=a39%2Ca41%2Ca38v1y%2Ca38v2y%2Ca10239%2Ca3801%2Ca85%2Ca10246%2Ca33512%2Ca10241%2Ca10244%2Ca39705&pfmode=1&reqtype=2&gcs=13&pfid=2473&pf_query=&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=ZIP%2FPostal&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=2%26fsoo%3D2&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search&fgtp=

Q: any on have an eclipse for sale ?
i need an 2000-2003 mitsubishi eclipse does anyone have a nice clean good working one for sale ? and i looking for a verry good deal ……

A: i saw many on ebay motors. here’s the direct link

Q: Help with 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS?
I’ve been thinking about buying a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS for sale in my town. It’s got 120,000 miles on it and is posted at $4,500. It has got some upgrades on it, however it is not a street racing car because I know who the guy selling it is and he doesn’t race it. Here is what is posted on the craigslist add and I was wondering what type of questions I should ask such as maintenance that has been done and etc on this model :
1997 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE GS
4 CYLINDER 2.0 FUEL INJECTED
5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION
120,000 MILES

This is an awesome car in great shape. Many modifications and very fast!!!

*LOWERED
*BODY KIT WITH SPOILER
*CUSTOM WHEELS AND LOW PROFILE TIRES
*COLD AIR INTAKE
*CUSTOM EXHAUST WITH CARBON FIBER MUFFLER
*STABILIZING BARS FRONT AND BACK
*SHORT SHIFTER
*SUN ROOF
*FOG LIGHTS
*1200 WATT SUBWOOFER SYSTEM

A: I didn’t hear things like new head gasket, new timing belt, new waterpump, new input shaft bearing retainer, new lower control arms which have a 100% failure rate on those cars.

Q: Should I buy a Mitsubishi Eclipse?
My car was totaled and I am now looking for a new vehicle. I am mostly interested in a Mitsubishi Eclipse, Toyota Celica, or Ford Mustang (Every 19 yr old females dreams) I found a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT for sale and I’m wondering if I should buy it. I understand that it depends on if the vehicle was well maintained by previous owners. Basically, I want to know at about what mileage Eclipse’s tend to go bad.

Thank You

Heres the vehicle I’m looking at:
http://www.mattinglymotors.net/detail.aspx?ID=346681&PageName=newandusedcars
I didn’t really ask about another type of vehicle. I have a maximum of $6000 to spend which doesn’t get much in Louisiana unless you want a piece of junk.
Also, your friends car is probably junk because he races it and is hard on it. Mine would just be for transportation, no heavy mileage, no racing. Just for getting from point A to point B

I just want to know about how long they last before they need a new transmission or motor.

A: First off, that car has way too much mileage for its age. I have a friend that drives the same car except his is a 2000. It has about 96k miles and it still runs good. My advice to you is to find a car that has lower miles(try not to exceed 80k). Yes, I agree that condition of the car depends on how the previous owner takes care of it. Try looking at other models such as honda civic, accord, and toyota camry or corollas.

Q: How much should i offer on a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX?
there is a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX for sale near my area and they’re asking $8500
it has 42,000 original miles, built 6 bolt with less then 6000 miles on it with 272/272 hks cams, 720 inj., 255 walboro pump, full 3″ Buschur exhaust, Fully adj. coilovers and springs and Front mount. A pillar three gauge pod with Boost and vac, air/fuel, and Egt (not hooked up), Short throw, and front and back strut bars
and im thinking of getting it if its still available when i can get the money for it
and on kelly blue book says its worth bout $5,100
if you could help me and give me a good idea for how much to pay for it
thanks

A: For what they are asking that sounds like a steal. KBB bases the prices on stock figures, and whats in the car is deff. not stock. You could try 8000 but that is the lowest I can imagine them going seeing as how modded the car is.

Q: Will a Ford F-150 flowmaster exhaust work for my Ford Ranger?
Well i was looking at this exhaust for sale and its nice and sounds great but will it fit on my 2003 ford ranger??

A: NO. Dynomax ( Walker) makes a system just for your truck

Q: i need a 5 speed transmission in northeast Georgia (ford ranger)?
ASAP but can’t find one. It’s for a 2wd, 95, 5 speed, ford ranger. Any one out there near here have one for sale reasonable or know where to find one.

A: Ah, the dreaded M5OD tranny. I have had to replace a few, the best place to look outside of you local junksalvage yards is the local Ford off road associations, and forums. People in these groups tend to lift their trucks for off-roading purposes. Thus they REMOVE the weaker M5OD and replace them with a ZF tranny. So amoungst the group there should be a few tranny’s laying around that you can get for cheap. Look on www.ford-trucks.com (FTE) to see if anyone has one in your area. It’s a Ford forum, free to sign up, and very nice helpfull people.

Also look around for Mazda B2600 trucks, i see these things for sale day in and day out, granted it might come with the entire truck, but hey, at least you know the tranny works and it might have other mechanical goodies you can keep as spares for future use.

Good Luck!!!

Q: People who live in L.A. or L.A. county I need a Ford Ranger extended cab!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Im looking for a Ford Ranger extended cab year 1995 – 2001 so if you got one for sale please leave me your e-mail address or phone number. oh and can you leave the price your asking, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A: Try this link from the LA Times

http://www.cars.com/go/search/search_results.jsp?ct=168&tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21&cid=&dlid=&dgid=&amid=&cname=&mdnm=Ranger&mknm=Ford&rd=20&ddrd=&zc=90053&makeid=14&modelid=183&pageNumber=&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE%20descending&certifiedOnly=false&criteria=K-|E-|M-_14_|D-_183_|N-N|R-20|I-1|P-PRICE%20descending|Q-descending|Z-90053&aff=latimes

Q: I have a 1988 ford ranger front brakes keep locking up. does anyone have an idea what i should do to fix it???
ALSO THE TRUCK IS FOR SALE $1000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A: I’ve run across this problem before. It is very possible your brake hoses are collapsing and not allowing the fluid to return to the system causing the brakes to lock up. Check this out. New hoses don’t cost much. Good luck!.

Q: ford rangers 1994-1996?
SEEKING 1994 TO 1996 FORD RANGERS THAT ARE FOR SALE

A: Look in your local newspaper or local junkyard they usually carry old engines out of cars that have been in accidents.

Q: Will a transsmision from a 2.9 6cyl auto 2wd line up and fit a 2.3 4cyl auto from both from ford ranger’s?
I need to know before I buy cause i hear that ford made alot of their parts interchangable. Please only answer if your a mechanic or have done this before because I need a detailed answer if i have to buy any thing to “convert” the bigger tranny..Also if you have a transmission or a “part” truck 4 sale leave me some contact info and I will be sure to be in contact with you..Thanks for any help from anyone who can shed some light on my problem.

A: Here’s the real deal, will that 4 cyl transmission handle the 6 power. If it is the same then the bell housing of the tranny needs to be adapted or changed to a 6. you will also need to get a PCM (computer from a 6 or it won’t start.
There is a lot of work to retro an engine but is is possible. and since you are replacing a standard motor to one that was an option it should fit fine. You might go to a junk yard and look at the two and snap a couple of pictures as some under hood devices change location.
Exhaust will have to be replaced and if you change the transmission then the drive line will need to be replaced…
That is about as detailed as I can get. As this is going to be an ongoing project.

Q: I need LEAF SPRINGS FOR A 94 FORD RANGER can anyone help me find the cheapest ones?
if you have some for sale get ahold of me!THANKS
a new set of leaf springs

A: www.autopartauctions.com

Q: IS $1,300 a good deal for a 1994. Ford Ranger 2 wheel drive with a 4.0L engine and 134K miles on it?
I had a great car it was a 94 Toyota Celica GT I drove it for a long time but now it has 251K miles on it some break and clutch problems, it still runs great but I think it is time for that old gal to rest and let a car with less miles on it take over before she dies on me cuz I love that car. I think I came across a good deal, someone I know has a 1994 ford ranger 2 wheel drive 4.0L automatic with 134K miles on it for sale for $1,300, I looked at it and it is very nice looking and runs like a brand new truck the oil has been changed Regularly too, the only thing bad about it is they smoked in it so the cloth on the top of the cab cab is sagging and has rips in it, one dent in the door and the steering column is a little loose. as for the cloth on the top of the cab I can fix that my self, I have the fabric for it already and you wouldn’t be able to tell it was ever like that, the dent in the door isn’t that big and I can fix that my self to, it would be easy and my uncle is a mechanic and he said hi will fix the steering column for me. everyone I know tells me it is a great deal but some of them can be hard on gas, the 2 wheel drive ones are supposed get 24 mile to the gallon but I don’t know cuz I never had one. so what do you think how are they on gas? are they good trucks? and is that a good deal?

A: If you are in that kind of jam, sure.

I had a 94 with that stupendous four cylinder with 8 spark plugs…got 283,600 miles from it.

With the auto trans, check out that vacuum modulator that runs from the intake manifold to the trans. If that thing leaks, you get trans fluid in the engien oil. Bye-bye auto trans!

The 4.0L won’t get 24 MPGs, especially on that is 17 years old now. 20 MPGs HWY if you take it easy when possible.

Q: about my 95 ford Ranger XLT?
I got the truck from my son, Kristofer Miller, 4of 2001. About 4 months later, after having it weighed, measured to make sure it doesn’t fo past some code for Calif., some crap head decided to break into my truck at a grocery store. When we got back into the truck, we’d reralozed it had been vandalized. Yesm we made a police report. Now, after years of using it to haul brush off of the property, helping pull out tree stumps, I need to get it registared into my name, so that I can drive it on the street. He bought it from one of your lots, in Henderson, Nev. I called and the girl that was helping me, Charisse, coild only access the archives, back to 2005. I need a copy of the sale of the truck, so that I can call DMV in Nevada to request a copy of the papers I need to file a lost registration form. It is a 1995 Ford Ranger XLT. The last 6 numbers of the Vin are BO5837 It was sold to Kristofer John Miller [or just J]. He as living in Las Vegas at the time, as he is in the Air Force. After that he went to Indiana for 4 years and is now in Puyallup, Wash.
f you find anything, please fax it to 559.781.7543. Or you can call ,e at 559.202.8834. Any information woild be appreciated.

Always, Bonnie Kettler

A: WoW.. go to your local DMV see if they can help you out, keep trying and good luck.

Q: i need wires for a 98 ford ranger?
i need all the wiring for a 98 4.0 4×4 ford ranger all the wires meanning for the signal lights, headlights, power windows, radio, basically all the wiring, fuse box etc.i need it fast i already looked in all the junkyards in the fresno california area, just can’t find it some help mee if you have one for sale let me knowor if you know were i can find one online.or if you have a 98 ford ranger pick up laying around that you are willing to sell please let me know??

A: Check out Painless wiring online they may have what you’re looking for.

Q: 2000 Ford Ranger Lower Ball Joints?
Need to get my lower balls joints replaced. Mech. just said lower ball joints were bad. Do I NEED to replace the uppers too? Or can I just replace the lowers? We’re going to sell it anyhow. But figure this is an important thing to get fixed before listing it for sale. But wanted to know if replacing the lowers would be just fine, and then who ever buys it can deal with the uppers later.

A: just replace lowers and get front end alignment good luck

Q: New Ford Ranger Price Haggling?
I’m very interested in a brand new 2010 Ford Ranger Sport. MSRP of $22,155.00 and total MSRP after all the add-ons of $24,110.00. I have to add Tax on to that as well, of 9.75%. This is the first time I’m buying a new vehicle, and my dad say I should go in and say I want it for $21,000.00 out the door, and watch them sweat. Is that ridiculous and will they just laugh at me? Or in Southern California right now with the recession and auto sales where they are, and since they 2011’s are soon to be out, is that a reasonable offer? I can definitely afford more than that, but I have no idea how to haggle down a car.

Thanks, any input on pricing would be appreciated!
-Alex

A: Your Dad is right on the money. You may not be able to buy it for that, but its a good opening offer. Don’t get in a hurry and if they start pressuring you head for the door.

Q: Need info on replacing 1996 Ranger Lower Radiator Hose?
You wouldn’t think that this would be difficult but…. My Ford Ranger 6 cyl, 3 L, has a small 3/4″ or so hose coming off the lower radiator hose, besides the large connection to the bottom of the radiator, and the large connection to the engine. Sort of a “y” looking hose. The replacement hoses listed for sale only have the large connections. What is the small branch off the hose for (this hose is original) and what do I need to do to get my hose changed?

Thanks, hope that was halfways clear….

A: Just one more way the goofball engineers make it harder for people to do their own repairs….have to buy the factory hose—at a huge price probably— if aftermarket do not match.
Small hose breaks=buy the whole hose, aftermarket don’t carry or can’t reproduce=buy the factory hose, stuck in the middle of nowhere=have the truck towed because you can’t match a 15.00 section of hose…ad nauseum.

Q: Commercial Contracts. Can someone answer this question for me? Its for a Commercial Contracts University paper?
Question One

Pris advertises her Porsche 911 for sale in the newspaper. Leon, a recent commerce graduate, answers the advertisement and inspects the car. Although Leon is handsomely rewarded as a member of the auditing staff of Nomosake Hobbes he is unable to pay the asking price. However he is optimistic of arranging a loan through his parents. He does not want to commit himself but wants to tie Pris down while he takes time to think the matter over. Pris types up a letter on her stationery which reads,

“I, Pris, hereby offer to sell my Porsche 911, registration number ZXY 6166, to Leon for the sum of $100,000. This offer may be accepted by letter sent to my office at Mission Bay, and if so accepted shall be deemed to have been effected at the time the letter would ordinarily be delivered.
I also undertake not to sell the car to any one else before Wednesday 7th July 2010.”

Both Pris and Leon sign the letter.

Leon, after checking his bank balance and obtaining a loan from his doting grandmother, decides to accept Pris’s offer. The post office is experiencing a go slow by its employees so Leon decides to fax his acceptance.

He sends a fax to Pris’s office on Friday 2nd at 6 pm. But unknown to Leon Pris has already left for the weekend.

The following morning, Saturday, Leon posts a confirmatory letter.

In the meantime Zora, a friend of Pris offers her $99,500 for the car. As Pris has not yet heard from Leon she accepts Zora’s offer on Sunday afternoon. That afternoon she phones Leon and tells him she is withdrawing her offer. Leon tells her of the fax and the letter. He demands the car. Pris refuses.

On Monday morning Pris checks her fax machine and reads Leon’s acceptance. Later that morning Pris receives the letter in the mail.

Analyse each stage of the scenario in terms of offer and acceptance and advise Leon whether he has a valid claim against Pris.

A: Personally I think that letters are great, assuming they are presented utilising great grammar and spelling (always use a spill chucker!). You can secure some great instruction for composing letters by learning from the website in the box below, it’s got lots of other stuff about job searching in addition.

A: Computer generated I would guess. Amusing though.

Q: What kind of businesses can I start up or jobs I can obtain that would guarantee me a Ferrari or a Porsche 911?
I’m tired of not having what I want, and I’m ready to go after it. I want to make that man on the car lot happy at the Ferrari, Porsche, Lambroghini plant, etc. because he made a sale(commission), he helps me and I help him. The only way is if I can obtain wealth for what I want, and I want a very expensive sports car. So I want some good solid answers on how I can create a great income so that I can enjoy those finer things that most people hardlly ever have the privelige of having.

A: Work at the dealership or get very, very good at detailing upscale autos.

Q: Has anyone sold a car on Porsche Club of America’s website?
I was wondering if anyone has ever sold a Porsche automobile on the PCA “Mart” website. And if they would recommend that method of advertising my ‘85 911 Carrera for sale.

Feel free to suggest other methods of advertising a car, and why its a good choice, or if you’ve had good experience selling a car that way. I’ve thought about using AutoTrader and Cars.com too.

A: It’s a relatively soft market for such cars right now, but I’d suspect you’re still likely to enjoy much more luck through outlets that are aimed towards Porsches than general sites like AutoTrader.

The national PCA site (and local regional classifieds) are generally pretty good. If your car is in good to excellent condition, with all documentation and records, you can generally expect to realize a premium price you probably won’t get elsewhere (though expect buyers to be extra picky).

Other good sources would be rennlist and the Pelican Parts BBS (the later is usually quite active with used cars, though again, a soft market at the moment, so may take awhile to dial in the right price and make a sale).

Q: Ferrari 308 vs. Porsche 911?
How does a Ferrari 308 compare with a 911 SC or 911 Turbo of the same year in terms of performance, collectibility, parts cost etc. I know it seems obvious the Ferrari is more valuable but after looking at an ‘82 for sale, I was unimpressed. Is a 308s value mainly based on its badge?

A: Three very different cars with some very different strengths and weaknesses. All three definite show their age and even at the time they were produced were somewhat behind the curve in terms of ergonomics.

The 911SC is a very reliable car, and the least expensive of these three (both in purchase price and cost of ownership). By modern performance standards it is left wanting, though in the hands of a capable pilot it is still capable of good lap times. It’s very much a Porsche 911 in terms of how it feels – which is a good thing if you like 911s.

The 930 (911 Turbo) is far and away the top performer in this group. More costly than the SC, but similarly reliable if maintained (though the turbo does incur a somewhat higher cost of ownership). The car can be difficult to drive as it has all of the handling issues of 911s combined with the beastial nature of that 930 engine. Not a car for the timid or unskilled, but alot of fun and definitely a classic.

The Ferrari really pales in most ways against these two German cars, but it does have one thing that they lack: it’s a Ferrari. It’s a gorgeous car, and (for better or worse) you know you are in a Ferrari when driving one. Like the SC though, it’s performance is not as good as you might hope when compared to something like new Evo… but it is still a decent competitor that has many things going for it. However, expect it to be an expensive car to have. Purchase price with the vehicle is the cheap part, as parts and service will be very costly (keeping up just basic maintenace and the occassional repair will add up to the car’s purchase cost in about 5 years).

I much prefer the Porsches both for usability and performance (though the 308 should be a little quicker than a similar aged SC… though a 3.2 Carrera that came after the SC should be a little better and is not much more than an SC). But the Ferrari is a great car for what it is, if what it is just happens to be what you are looking for and can afford.

Q: I bought a 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo and?
Ok, stupid question. I bought this car and you would think they would be happy for the sale. The sales guy tells me this is too much car for a woman. Now I am 44 and I know how to drive decently. They told me it would be too much and would fishtail etc. Ok, well the computer chip stops that and so far ok. I got it up to 113 MPH today and that is the highest I have gotten it and I have had it 2 months. My problem is everywhere I go kids see this black sports car and try to race me. I never go fast so I guess you think it is a waste but I love the car. I am now not wanting to drive it. I have almost been hit numerous times with cars coming up wicked fast behind me and then a red light, I stop and they almost don’t. It seems they want to beat me. I am not sure what car can beat me and don’t care. I have had some nice mustangs try and who knows if the can. I am ready to park it and drive my audi. Is this too much car for me? Did I make huge mistake?

A: This is not a stupid question. You made a large investment in your auto and obviously given your knowledge of computer controlled traction control and skid control, you read up on the Turbo and know that it is a super-car.

The sales guy is a fool. There are very good drivers out there that are women. In Drag racing, there were Shirley Muldowny, Ashley Force and Kitty O’Neil. In Indy type racing, Danica Patrick and Milka Duno race with the ‘boys.’ As of yet, I have not seen any scientific data that proves that men drive better than women due to physiological or anatomical differences based on gender. If I were making the purchase and the salesman said to me what he had said to you, then I would’ve given the commission to another salesperson and verbally blasted the sales-jerk with a tongue as spirited as the car you purchased. What he said was just dead wrong. A letter to Porsche America is justified.

I would strongly suggest to any man or woman that when they buy a super-car that they enroll themselves into a performance driving school. This could be a weekend or even a full week of driving instruction and or track time depending on how much available time you have. Driving decently is not the question. There are people driving underpowered econo-boxes that get involved in accident after accident. Obviously you are not in that category, but wouldn’t it be nice to better understand what your top of the line 911 can do?

There are many reasons to enroll in a performance driving school. One reason is the thrill factor. When you were thinking about getting the Turbo and when first driving the car, I know you felt exhilarated. Performance driving schools that operate on closed-courses (racetracks) will help restore that same feeling. Not only are they fun do with your newest addition to the garaged family, but they will teach many aspects of spirited driving that you may not be aware of. By learning the ins and outs of your car, you will also be safer whether you are driving like a racer or driving Miss Daisy.

There are many different styles of cars and a car that may be appealing to one may not be appealing to another. One person may only be interested in a car because it is fast when another may seem the same car and see a work of art and not just an autobahn screamer.

When I was younger, I had a very heavy lead foot. In high school, my car would see 100+mph almost every day. When a family friend police officer gave me advice, I had to listen. He told me… Certain cars will always attract attention. Certain drivers will always attract attention. Some of the attention is good, but most of it is bad. He went on to say that if somebody is lining up to race, then you can race and hope to win by throwing caution to the wind or get under their skin by doing something totally opposite what they expect; drive even slower!

Yes, I know what the driver’s manuals state… you should always check your mirrors, but don’t focus on what other people are doing behind you so much. Focus on YOU. You bought a car that you love. In addition to being a very fast car, the Porsche Turbo is a work of art. It is simply beautiful even when parked and not moving at close to its ridiculous top speed. The purchase of the Turbo is also a statement. You are obviously successful and able to purchase the Turbo when others are complaining about a souring world economy. This is yet another reason to be proud of your Turbo. You made it happen!!!

If I were you, then I’d do a couple of things. First I’d tint the windows so that people outside couldn’t see who was driving. Screw the nosey-bodies. Let them wonder. Yes, window tinting is illegal in many states, but the fine is very cheap and there are no points with it. If you are stopped and questioned about your window tint, tell the officer that you were attracting too much attention and this was safer. The officer may write the ticket or might not. Even if the officer does, who cares; it is typically only a $50 fine. The second thing I’d do is enroll in a performance driving school. There is no better way to get familiar with your auto then to bring it to a track for structured learning. Some might even refer to it as getting intimate with their auto by learning how the auto leans, turns, slides and rebounds! (Laughing.) You never know how much fun you could have. Who knows, by the spring you might even consider weekend racing. The SCCA (Sports Cars Club of America) has a number of events all over the country that sets up courses with pylons and people race their cars against the stopwatch in a very safe environment.

This is YOUR car. Drive it how YOU wish. At 44, you know that you cannot please everybody all the time. Why should this time be any different? It shouldn’t. Most people could be jealous that you are driving the Turbo and not them.

Q: Out of all current model Porsche 911 (i.e. 2005+ 997 series) on the road, how many are TURBO?
Non-turbo 997 in various forms makes 320-350 HP (excluding the “track” variants GT2 and GT3.) The Turbo 997 makes 473 HP.

I live in Los Angeles and I don’t see very many of these 997 turbos on the road. I see 997 Porsches on the road every day but I would estimate I see a Turbo on the street less than once a week — rare enough such that they definitely get my attention. I’m curious to see if the ratio of hi-power/lo-power sales is similar to the ratios for other kinds of cars.

For example, the ratio of Corvette C6 base/Z06 is very high — in other words probably 1 out of 10 C6 Corvettes I see on the road are Z06. Is the ratio of turbo/nonturbo 997 Porsche about the same? More? Less?

Another parallel would be the ratio of Shelby GT500 versus non-Shelby Mustangs of any variety. I would estimate this ratio at less than 1 out of 50 for sure. I’ve got to be seeing dozens of regular Mustangs and Mustang GT on a daily basis. I might see one Shelby a week.

A: The figures from Porsche are not quite specific enough, but if you look over the historical data and figure that in, you can probably make a rough estimate.

From 2005-2007, Porsche sold a little over 36000 Carrera models in the US. With another model year since that, and the US accounting for nearly half of Porsche’s market, there are porbably around 100000 997s that have been produced by the factory since it was introduced.

Looking at known numbers for past Turbo Carreras, these have normally accounted for almost 10% of the production total. However, the turbo version was not introduced until 2006… so there are probably about 7500 total world wide out of the 100000 Carreras out there.

Q: How can I put in a request for Ebay to email me when a specific item is put up for auction by a seller?
I looked and couldn’t find the right area of Ebay to put in this request. In the past, I put in requests such as “Porsche 911 model car” and Ebay would email me whenever someone put this item for auction/sale. It’s not the same as want it now which is essentially a want ad for other ppl to read. Thanks for your help.

A: Go to advance search
type in the search and down about 4 items is a box that says save this search to my ebay. Good luck

Q: I advertised my car for sale, a young man and his ?
girlfriend came to view it, he said it was just what he wanted and asked to try it out, I said ok but not to go too far as it needed re-fuelling. his girlfriend waited at our house with his car while he went for a spin, he was gone over an hour and his girlfriend was concerned for him so she set off to look for him,
Thet was eight hours ago, has he run out of fuel or could they both have got lost?
ps. My car is a 911 Porsche.

My kingdom for a horse.

A: eh its kinda obvious they stole it and made a runner.

sorry

better luck next time u r stupid enough to give a stranger your car for a free ride

Q: Porsche special order?
Im looking to buy a new Porsche when I turn 16 next year which is a long time but I’ve already begun to look for one. I’m looking to get a Boxster, Cayman, or if im lucky a 911. I’ve created some ones that look nice and that I want on the Porsche website. The only problem is that the ones I’ve created are not anywhere on sale. I was wondering if I can call, email, or go somewhere to have a Porsche built to my liking.
Thats another thing how much will insurance be? And I know i really wanted a lambo, bentley, or rolls royce, but my parents want me to start off small.
My parents are paying for it all.

A: yes if u have the money……cost about 2-3 sticker price tho and the waiting list will b about 3 years…

would suggest calling and talking to porsche dealer…. they often will have other models not listed on site…..

Q: Im Buying a New Car any ideas?
I currently have a 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe and the lease is up next month (April) . I have been looking around and I want some thing in the price range of about $35,000-$50,000 depending on the car I have thought about a used Porsche 911 and I like the new Audi TT-S but I don’t know when its supposed to be for sale I want some thing 2 door coupe sporty and preferably fast no American cars. Any Suggestions

A: What about the New Audi A5? I just ordered one. It drives amazing and is probably the most beautiful car I have ever seen. It will be at the top of your budget, but it will be worth it. The BMW 335i Coupe would also be worth looking. The BMW is stupid fast and looks are killer. It is a big upgrade from the Infiniti. I would not recommend the new Infiniti G35 Coupe because it has a sand-box sized trunk and doesn’t grip the road too well.

Q: Wife and Boss, Your Opinion?
Here is the deal. My wife started a new career and has a boss that she works with a lot during the week and afterhours events. This is typical of the sales industry and networking. I noticed almost immediately that her boss had feeling for her beyond friendship. I could see the way that he looked at her and even caught him checking her out in my house. There were a lot of other instances that had me scratching my head like what the hell. My wife didn’t believe me at first but now believes that he is falling in love with her. Our relationship has had its ups and downs but we still love each other very much and are still attracted to one another.

This has wrecked havoc on our relationship and marriage. I trust her but do not trust him. They now spend a lot more time together than we do and he even drives our cars to meet clients. She doesn’t think it is a big deal that he drives but I do. I wanted a Porsche 911 but there is no way in hell that I want that POS in my dream car. He is overweight, divorced, broke as a joke and tells lies to make others think that he is something he is not. I see right through the BS. When my wife and I fight he is there for her and tells her that I am the one playing mind games. He will do anything for her. I think that it is going to end up badly for her and possibly. I support her 100% financially as she is going into this new career and I have all of the money. She doesn’t make anything. I do not want to pay to mess up our relationship and marriage. We almost called it off last weekend and I got the divorce papers ready, moved accounts around and looked at cutting her off. We reconciled our differences but I still feel that it is only a matter of time before (1) something happens between them (2) she rejects him and loses her career anyway or (3) we fight so much about it that we get divorced.

Thoughts????

A: He’s overweight, divorced, broke as a joke and a liar… and your wife likes spending time with him.. why?
Seriously– why would your wife want to be (work) with him at the expense of her marriage?

Q: Which car should I buy?
Hello. I am looking into purchasing a nice car. I have the money, and I’m looking for a nice car that costs no more than 130k. However, there are so many nice cars to choose from. I love luxury cars, however, I love sports cars. I like having a luxurious car with power and speed. I also like attention (stares, sometimes photos taken, comments) . I have narrowed my list down to a few cars. Keep in mind, if I buy the car used, I could maybe afford to buy another car.

1. Porsche Cayman-This is a very nice coupe from Porsche that has a different styling than the 911, however, it is not as powerful. The interior is good though.

2. Porsche Panamera S- A Porsche sedan with an amazing luxurious interior, however, the exterior looks somewhat ugly (the backside). This car has great power. It can do 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 177. There are many lightly used cars for sale that cost around 80k, whereas a new would cost 103k. I think this car is an attention grabber, since it is, a 4 door porsche.

3. Audi R8-I love the exterior, but HATE the interior. Also, it can’t hold too much stuff. I have lots of luggage for business travel. Also, the Panamera is cheaper and is around the same speed.

4. Mercedes Benz S-Class- This car is very luxurious. However, many people have these cars, and I would probably not be noticed. You see these everyday. Also, the speed is not that great.

5. Maserati GranTurismo- This car has good power (not the best), but still delivers a great luxurious ride. Also, it is one of the sexiest cars on the road and is definitely a head turner. It also has great sound. But, the nav system and interior tech is very out dated. Also, the seats are very firm and a little uncomfortable.

Which car should I buy? Which car is the best?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: What do you think of these gifts given by the American Auto Makers?
after 911
Ford, GM & Chrysler —-

INTERESTING….maybe the country should consider bailing them out to some
degree

Nothing needs to be said.. Ford, Chrysler and GM’s contributions after 9/11

An interesting commentary…You might find this of interest:

‘CNN Headline News did a short news listing regarding Ford and GM’s
contributions to the relief and recovery efforts in New York and Washington
.

The findings are as follows…..

1. Ford- $10 million to American Red Cross matching employee contributions
of the same number plus 10 Excursions to NY Fire Dept. The company also
offered ER response team services and office space to displaced government
employees.

2.. GM- $10 million to American Red Cross matching employee contributions of
the same number and a fleet of Vans, SUV’s, and Trucks.

3. Daimler Chrysler-$10 million to support of the children and victims of
the Sept. 11 attack.

4. Harley Davidson motorcycles- $1 million and 30 new motorcycles to the
New York Police Dept..

5. Volkswagen-Employees and management created a Sept 11 Foundation, funded
initial with $2 million, for the assistance of the children and victims of
the WTC.

6. Hyundai- $300,000 to the American Red Cross.

7. Audi- see VW

8. BMW – Nothing.

9. Daewoo – Nothing.

10. Fiat – Nothing.

11. Honda – Nothing despite boasting of second best sales month ever in
August 2001

12. Isuzu – Nothing.

13. Mitsubishi – Nothing.

14. Nissan – Nothing.

15. Porsche – Nothing. Press release with condolences via the Porsche web
site.

16. Subaru – Nothing.

17. Suzuki – Nothing.

18. Toyota – Nothing despite claims of high sales in July and August 2001.
Condolences posted on the web site .

Whenever the time may be for you to purchase or lease a new vehicle, keep
this information in mind. You might want to give more consideration to a car
manufactured by an American-owned and / or American based company. Apart
from Hyundai and Volkswagen, the foreign car companies contributed nothing
at all to the citizens of the United States … It’s OK for these companies
to take money out of this country, but it is apparently not acceptable to
return some in a time of crisis. I believe we should not forget things like
this. Say thank you in a way that gets their attention…

A: thanks for posting that. I’m a union Ironworker and only buy American (chevy) If you pulled up on a job site in a rice burner it would get trashed.

Q: Mazda Rx8?????
What are your feelings on a 2005 Mazda Rx8? Are they good vehicles? Have you had any problems with them? Thanks!

A: I own an ‘05 Grand Sport 6MT RX8 bought new in June/05.

I haven’t had a single problem with her. She’s only seen the shop for regular scheduled maintenance.

The car is great fun to drive and I’m very happy to have bought her.

YMMV

Q: mazda rx8????
thinking about buying a 2004 mazda rx8 electric blue auto, black leather sunroof etc. 25,000k dealership said they have had a couple of problems with it. but i can buy warranty with it should i nice car

A: Yes, Mazda does make an auto trans RX8.

In the ‘04 and ‘05 models you only get the 4 port Renesis engine instead of 6 port available to the 6MT drivers. The 4 port only makes around 192 HP instead of 238 in the 6 port.

If the price is good enough, and the warranty available goes long enough then it may be a good deal. Make sure the “problems” you speak of are corrected, and that all recalls are completed.

Q: Mazda RX8???
What’s your opinion of the Mazda RX8?
Pros? Cons?
Would you buy it?

A: I would not buy it because I have driven it and it dissapointed me. The car looks and sounds great, but it doesn’t feel fast when you drive it. I even drove the manual version and I floored it, but i didn’t feel anything. The side mirrors are also to close to you and you have to turn your head to look through it.

Q: Where can i get a Mazda RX8 that is affordable in Philadelpia?
Im into cars and while watching tokyo drift i caught my eye on Mazda RX8 the girl was drivng and i’ve wanted it ever since! Problem is, they are a bit pricey. Does anyone know where i can get an affordable one? Used or whatever, it doesn’t matter. I live in Philadelphia. Thnkx

A: Also check www.ebay.com and see what the RX-8’s have been selling for and what they have for sale currently.

Q: How can I increase the horsepower of my 2007 Mazda rx8 to 260+?
I have a 2007 Mazda rx8, and it’s a 6-speed manual. How can I increase the hp to 260+ without using a turbo with intercooler. If possible can you state how much hp each mod would aprox. Provide. Thanks in advance!

A: Trevor’s answer would be correct for most cars, but not the RX8.

Mazda did a very good job of tuning the intake & exhaust, and the car already uses special plugs and coils. Upgrading all of these and even headers does very little to increase power, regardless of what some of the parts manufacturers may state in the advertising. All of the mods above *might* net you 15 HP at the flywheel. Although a high-flow cat can be worth about 8 HP, so that’s a good one.

And it you’re looking for 260 at the wheels you’re definitely going to require forced induction or rebuilding the motor.

Go to the owners forum at:

http://www.rx8club.com

Just about every product imaginable has been dyno tested so you can see the real world results.

Q: Can You find a Mazda RX8 REVOLUTION in the US?
Trying to find a Mazda Rx8 REVOLUTION to purchase, any details would be great.

A: http://www.automotive.com/used-cars/classifieds/11/mazda/rx-8/index.html

Q: What is a good extended warranty to buy for a 2005 Mazda Rx8?
I am going to buy a 2005 Mazda RX8 with 46k miles on it. I want to get a warranty that covers a lot of what people say seem to break down so much on them. Any suggestions of where and what kind to get. I know that Mazda extended the Engine warranty, but that is a very basic warranty. I looking for a good warranty for price and results.

Thanks,
James

A: pretty much the only extended warranty places have been sued by attorney generals in many states, because they are all greedy cheating companies, the only warranty that is worth anything is a factory warranty, everything else that breaks on a car is normal wear and tear items. you want to keep your car new, dont drive it, thats the only way. There is no company that pays off unless your car is new.

Q: How to avoid mazda rx8 engine flooding?
I want to buy a second-hand mazda rx8 preferably 04 with under 40,000 miles.
I am 17 and just got my license, im looking for a reliable car that wont need any repairs, but its also sporty and aggressive.

How can i avoid flooding the engine, what causes engine floods. And if it does happen how do i fix it without involving a mechanic?
Also how often should i change the oil?
And how should i generally look after a rotary engine.

A: When this happens STOP cranking immediately, your just making it worse at that point and will have to do more to get it started. If you stopped immediately you might be able to get away with just pulling the two fuel relays located in the fuse panel in engine compartment both blue and right next to each other. than unplug the secondary air connector located in engine compartment passenger side.

Q: Where can i get good quality performance parts and interior and exterior parts for a Mazda RX8?
i want to improve the look and power of my Mazda RX8 and i cant really find a place. so if you guys can give me some ideas that would be awesome!

A: I own a company called AutoModCentral. We’re a local store right now, and we’re building a website. Email me at automodcentral@yahoo.com and I’ll send you the link to the site and price you up anything you’re looking for at a discount.

Q: How long would a 2004 Mazda RX8 engine last?
i want to buy a used mazda Rx8 for less than 10k. but it has close to 84 thousand miles. i want to know if it is worth the cost, and how many more miles that engine will pump out for me. and possibly what the max amount of miles it can get upto. Also if anybody knows, Mazda’s use Rotary Engine, are they cheaper to replace than normal ones? if so, how much?

A: It will last until it breaks down.

An engine doesn’t have an expiration date, or an expiration mileage.

Seriously. Think about it. Why would miles mean something is in good shape or bad shape? All that really matters is how it is MAINTAINED during that time.

I’ve got two cars with over 300k miles EACH. Run like the day they were made. So 84k miles isn’t even breaking the car in.

Q: What price can I get a used mazda rx8 for?
How much do you think is a good price for a used 2004 mazda rx8?

A: Depends on how many miles, equipment, condition and where you live. I think the average is around $10,500.00 to $13,100.00 dollars.

Q: mazda Rx8 2008 wont start what could be the problem?
I have an Mazda rx8 that wont start when i go to start it I get a clicking noise. We did try to jumpstart the car and it then sounded like it was trying to start but wouldnt start all the way. Now the windows the lights in the car all work but the car wont start. what can be the problem? We think its the battery since we did try and jumpstart it and it was actually trying to start, but when we took the jumper cables off it went back to the clicking noise. any ideas?

A: Most likely the battery.
It’s natural that it should jumpstart and then revert to the old situation – you didn’t actually recharge the battery by jumpstarting the engine.
Try to slow-charge for 12 hrs or so and see the result. If it wouldn’t hold the charge for 2…3 days, replace it. Alternatively, go to the battery shop and have the battery tested (this is faster) and if dead, buy another one there.

Q: Can anyone tell me about an automatic transmission mazda rx8?
I love the look of sporty cars, but i don’t want to drive with a manual tranmission. The mazda rx8 caught my eye and i have seen a few with automatic transmissions. I have heard a lot of things about the rx8 that worry me, like that its high maitenence, it eats up oil and gas quickly and some stuff about the rotary engine that sounds like a pain. I was wondering if these things are true only to the manual, or if they apply to the automatic aswell(or if they are even true at all).
I appreciate any information i can get on the car! thanx
This is also my first car ever, so im looking for something reliable. For the most part ill be driving to school and home and around town, not any long distances. Let me kno if you have any suggestions!

A: Theirs really nothing wrong with the car…rotary engines tend to be high maintenence, but it really only applies to rotary motors that have a lot of miles on them. With a brand new rotary powered car you really shouldnt have any big rotary related issues till you get into the 6 digit mileage, even then you could probably go to 200k on the original motor with no problems since its non turbo. the issues do apply to both manual and auto however. and i agree….if you want a sports car you really should buy a manual; however, the automatic RX-8 does come with paddle shifters on the steering wheel and an almost identical motor so it would still be a blast to drive. The automatic has almost 40hp less however. As for oil and gas, itll eat up gas for sure since it only gets 18 mpg, but it wont eat up oil. people like to say that but i have an 88 RX-7 with 118k miles and it doesnt it up oil at all, people will tell you to check your oil at every other gas fill, and while this is a good practice and you should follow just for the heck of it….you really wouldnt need to on a brand new RX-8. i dont with my RX-7 and my oil level is always perfect, probably losses a 1/4 of a quart every month or two, which really isnt bad at all. i say go for it if you have the money…but if youre gonna put a ton of miles on the car, i would choose a different, one, but if youre only going to be driving around your city with the occasional long distance trip, id say go for it!!! although i would prefer a manual myself….

Q: How much value does My 2007 Mazda RX8 and my 2006 Lexus IS-250 have today?
I would like to purchase a used Mercedes SLK-Class maybe a 280 or 350. I would prefer to limit how much I pay to between $19,000-$30,000. I own a 2007 Mazda RX8 and a Lexus IS-250 and both only have 25,000 miles. How much value do you think both the Mazda and the Lexus still have?

A: KBB.com. This site is the official site that shows used car values. I’d say maybe 15k for the Mazda and around twenty something for the Lexus but look it up.

Q: where is the starter on the mazda rx8 located?
I think I might need to replace the starter on my 2004 automatic mazda rx8 and I have no idea where its located?

A: Some googling found this website which has a service manual:
http://foxed.ca/rx7manual/2003mazdarx8/
Click Engine, then starting system, and it has links to a diagram showing where the starter is and instructions on how to inspect or remove it.

Q: 98 Honda Accord Transmission for SALE?
Hello,

Where can I buy 98 Honda Accord Transmission? Used or rebuilt? What if I trade mine in? Will the price go down? For about how much can I get one? I live in Charlotte, NC.

Thanks!

A: Personally, I stay away from junk yard transmissions mainly because for all you know they could be in the same shape yours is in, and even if there is a warranty it’s just more of a hassle to to get ANOTHER one put in after you already replaced it once. Check on eBay, I found one for my 92 Mitsu rebuilt for a decent price. Just make sure you give them your VIN number though, no matter where you go. There could be 3 different types of transmissions offered (different gearing and bolt patterns for different motors).

And yes, you transmission you have now would be considered a core, if you dont return yours then they will charge you a core credit. Basically they’re paying you for your transmission so they can rebuild it and sell it again, just like the one you just bought from them! Or you could go to a transmission shop and have them rebuild the one you already have. You have a few options here. Hope this helps, good luck!!

Q: 99 honda accord for sale at houston tx?
2 door

A: why its faulty

Q: How much can I sale a 1999 Honda Accord EX Coupe for?
The vehicle has 166,000 miles, the transmission is ruined and the power steering no longer works. Can I get at least $700 for this vehicle?

A: More like $200 at the crusher. But if someone is looking for parts you might get a bit more out of it. Stick an ad in the paper, for sale, 1999 Honda Accord EX Coupe, high mileage, issues mechanically. As is. Clear title. $700 OBO. See what offers you get.

Q: 98 Honda Accord Transmission for Sale?
Hello,

Where can I buy 98 Honda Accord Transmission? Used or rebuilt? What if I trade mine in? Will the price go down? For about how much can I get one? I live in Charlotte, NC.

Thanks!

A: you didn’t say if it was auto or standard but Ive looked on e bay auto for engines and transmissions before. If its a automatic your looking at 1200-1800 for a rebuilt and about half that for one out of a salvage yard.Good luck to you.

Q: Need to sale 2007 Honda Accord EXL….value help needed?
Hey Guys,
Just bought this 2007 Honda Accord EXL for $25k has only 2k miles and due to some financial problem I’m not going to be able to make payments so I want to sell it. Not sure how much I can sell it for, any advice tips will be greatful. Its Silver/Black intereior. I dont want that to reflect on my credit report as late payment/no payment/repos.

A: I WILL BUY IT FOR A SHINY PENNY !

Q: anyone have used honda accord stock wheels for sale?
i would like to buy used stock aluminum wheels that fits honda accord.
1994 honda accord LX

A: ebay

Q: Trying To Sell My Honda Accord?
I have a 1998 honda accord for sale ex woth 171,000 miles on it how much should i be asking for it please help

A: $800

Q: A honda civic accord is on sale for a good price but it overheats, is overheating fixable?

A: Over heating is fixable, but correcting the over heating can range from simply replacing a very inexpensive part to a major engine repair. You need to find out the cause of the problem before deciding if this car is really a bargain.

If you decide to purchase this car, and it is a private party sale be ABSOLUTELY certain to get a CLEAR title BEFORE money is exchanged. A CLEAR title is necessary in order for you to register the car. A CLEAR title mans the car is currently registered in the name of the person selling it, and there are no liens against the car.

Q: is it weird that a 2007 honda accord is a sale for 2300? Thats really cheap but ive seen pics and its nice.?

A: Shoot the “seller” an email… you’ll get some sob story back as a response (“I’m in the military/divorcing/overseas”) and a request to have you use “Ebay Protection Plan” or similar. They’ll also want you to wire funds into a fake escrow account, and promise you that you’ll have “7 days to inspect the vehicle”.

It’s a huge scam. The car is NOT owned by the “seller”. Once you wire funds, they’re gone.

Q: Can you stick a diesel engine in a acura nsx?
I’ve seen an acura with a 6.1 hemi engine that you get from a dodge charger srt-8. So can you put a 6.7 cummins diesel engine in one.
doesn’t have to be a cummins
im just curious about it.

A: A diesel engine and trans out of a truck probably weighs about half what the entire NSX weighs. Not only would you need to redo the entire car to handle the weight the torque would bend your car.

Q: Question about an Acura NSX?
I ran across this nsx on autotrader and it seems way to cheap to be true, if it is however, i will buy this in a heartbeat

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=p&car_id=247065668&dealer_id=62859521&car_year=1993&num_records=25&model=NSX&systime=&make2=&start_year=1981&engine=&keywordsrep=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&keywordsfyc=&certified=&fuel=&body_code=0&search_type=both&distance=0&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&first_record=126&make=ACURA&color=&keywords_display=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=77503&advanced=&end_year=2009&pager.offset=125&transmission=&doors=&max_price=&cardist=1590

Your opinions?

A: The VIN is in the ad. Run it through Carfax. I’d about guarantee that he provided the VIN from another car or it has a salvage title.

Q: Acura NSX seats?
How many seats does the Acura NSX have?? if it has 2 can i sacrifice the trunk for more room to add 2 more seats on??

A: 2
if you add a baby seat 3
trucks in the front

Q: Acura nsx release date or none?
I know they were going to release a new NSX but and it was suppose to come out this year but it got postponed because the economy is bad. I was curious if anyone knew when it will be released again?

A: It’s a dead issue.

Q: Nissan GTR + Acura NSX Naming Question?
I know that Honda made the NSX but in USA its named under Acura, why is that?

And why isn’t Nissan GTR under Infiniti? (I know Nissan build it)

Thanks!!!

A: Lets start by clarifying who is who:

Nissan: original Japanese car maker.

Infinity: Nissan’s Luxury brand, first created for the US, now in many countries.

Honda: same as Nissan, an original Japanese car maker.

Acura: Same as Infinity, it is Honda’s Luxury brand also first created for US and now in many other countries.

Now about the naming, it all comes out to be what is more convenient for sales. On the Nissan side, they started to make the Skyline in the US under the Infinity brand and you know them very well as the Infinity G35 and G37 both coupe and 4 doors. But when they decided to bring back the Skyline GTR, they decided to go separate ways and drop it all together from the Skyline and make it its own, meaning, is just called the “GTR”.

The question was what to do with the GTR, let it be a Luxury vehicle under the Infinity flag, or leave it as Nissan. They decided to go under Nissan’s flag due to the fact that even when the car has lots of luxury features, it is very noisy and has a very hard suspension (as a real sports car should be). On the other hand, Nissan wanted to bring back up their international image and nothing was better than having the new GTR under their name. Price might not be the usual for a Nissan, but it was never meant to be a cheap car. It is in fact one of the best sports cars ever produced in the world.

For the Honda side, things were a little different as this happened many years ago. Back in the 90’s the Luxury brands were taking off into the air and they needed something to really advertise their Acura brand. The solution was the NSX. They decided to produce the NSX under the Acura’s flag only here in the US to boost their sales and compete against the sports cars of that time from Japan (Mitsubishi 3000GT, Nissan 300ZX, Mazda RX-7). They knew that people that could afford the NSX would be happy to have a “luxury” vehicle giving them more “prestige” over the other sports cars.

Up to now, many still debate if that was the right move, even when they sold the car, they did not make a real profit out of it. Price was too high compared to the other sports cars and the luxury was really just the brand name… everything else was just the same.

Hope this answers your questions.

Q: I want an Acura NSX?
Hello, I’m looking into getting an Acura NSX. I was wondering if any current or previous or future owners had anything to say about them? I don’t really mind which year one is, I like the 90s styling a little bit better than the 05’s lets say, but either one is fine.

A: Back then, the only practical high-end sportscars were the Porsche 911 and the Acura NSX.

The NSX is known for having the smoothest and quietest ride than any other sportscar.
0-60mph in 5.2 seconds. Top Speed is 165mph.

And it is the most reliable high end sportscar. Acura is made by Honda.

I like the NSX. It is one of my favorite cars and I only see 1-2 per year so they are rare.

Q: Acura is releasing their new v10 nsx in 2008 and lexus is relasing a car too Who is better Acura or Lexus?
Acura prices start at 30g and go up to 65g
so does lexus if not more?

A: Depends on which Lexus you are speaking of

Q: nissan 350z or acura nsx?
nissan 350 z or a acura nsx? im leaning more towards the acura

A: nsx

Q: Honda NSX or Acura NSX?
Ok, so I’ve been seeing this/these cars recently, and I’ve been thinking, “what?” This guy who lives down the street has an Acura NSX but in movies like FaF4 there is the car Honda NSX. They’re practically the exact same car, except different companies. I’ll add links to show you what I mean. Thanks.

Acura- http://www.designercars.net/biler/Honda-NSX-72857.jpg

Honda- http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7riaSZa0DnM/SLFQ44tU2wI/AAAAAAAAAwA/XINLdvQSgac/s400/honda-nsx-r-back-3_70.jpg

A: Actually they are the exact same car. In Japan, there is no Acura, which is just the quasi-luxury division of Honda in North America, so it’s called the Honda NSX. That’s the same as the Honda Integra. But they knew that Americans weren’t stupid enough to pay $90,000 for a V6 Honda, so they marketed under the Acura brand, which was more expensive than Honda, and strangely enough, stupid people actually bought them. That’s why it’s called the Acura NSX in the US, and the Honda NSX everywhere else in the world.

Q: Questions for my acura nsx?
i have an acura nsx im wanting to know how fast i can make it i have a idea but to busy messing with my mazda and about how much i could put into it?

Q: Acura NSX for a first/second car?
Hello,

When I am 18-20 years old, and have a job that pays about 12 dollars an hour, and I would work full time, would I be able to pay the maintenance costs for an Acura NSX?

Buying the actual car wouldn’t be a problem, just the actual maintenance + gas?

Thank you
Hank Scorpio – I like the NSX. It’s sporty + fast enough for a second/third car (maybe not first). I would just need a job with a good salary to afford it. I just wanted to know if it’s as expensive to maintain as a normal Honda VTEC engine or a similar Ferrari engine.

Guess I’ll just get a Golf MK4 for my first car, lol.

A: Even if cost isn’t an issue, an NSX is a horrible first/second car. Especially at your age. You will most like end up crashing it later on. Just do yourself a favor, and get a new Si or something else. Not an NSX.

Q: 1996 F355 VS 1995 Acura NSX?
1996 F355 vs 1995 Acura NSX
which one do u like better?
-I personally like the Ferrari but its way overpriced/very expensive to maintain/useful/ can’t drive it daily/it’s wider than NSX which I don’t like

NSX is way much cheaper/can drive it daily/much better quality inside/but its underpowerd/got small tires/and it’s long..

What do u think

A: The first responder is completely mistaken. The Ferrari F355 is considered one the most iconic Ferrari’s made, and will be seen as a lasting classic throughout the coming years.

As far as overpriced – that’s dependent upon how you look at it. If you’re just looking for something that looks like a supercar, then obviously the NSX is the better priced. But if you’re looking for the better car, in terms of pedigree, performance, style… There is no car from Japan that has yet to even kiss the feet of Ferrari in all of these.(Yes, I recognize that the Nissan GT-R is an incredible driving machine. It is, however, atrociously ugly both inside and out.

Q: what type of engine does an Acura NSX have in it.?
i just want to know the engine type and the modifications in it has thanks.

A: should be an F series engine buddy, something you cannot afford though.

as with this kenny guy, try a honda NSX-R engine, pathetic for a 90000 car? but yet… it has the power to beat a porsche GT3 in a straight line?

Q: When will the new Acura NSX come out to production?

A: There is nothing in the pipeline.

Q: What was the price of a 2001 Acura NSX in 2001?

A: New, around 85-90k for an nsx-t 6 speed. Honda was only selling around 700 units a year, just to have the car as a flagship, so thay were not too worried about handing out bargains.

I have tried papers, online, yahoo, ebay, etc etc. Apparently no one wants to get rid of these trucks….:(

A: try sites like carmax.com or yahoo or ebay auctions or your local or surrounding papers. most papers websites show used trucks for sale in the auto section.

Q: 1977 Chevy C20 Silverado Pickup 4×4 for $2500?
I’ve seen a 1977 Chevy C20 Silverado 4×4 on sale for $2500 and I’m wondering if it’s a good deal or not, it has a rebuilt 350 V8, 350TH, 4″ lift, 33″ tires, lots of new parts and it runs/drives great, body/interior are in good shape and the truck has a little bit of rust.

A: This is a hard question to answer. It really depends on the market where you live and also how much attention to detail there was during the time of installing the new parts. If it really is in good running condition and cosmetically in decent shape, it is werth every pennie. In some places that truck would be more like $6K, but then again in some place like in Las Vegas were I live most people only want to buy newer stuff. which is a bonus for people interested in the old stuff. It helps keep the price down. One thing is for sure everthing on that truck is easy to find and cheep. to rebuild the motor is around $1200, tranny $500, and tranfer case is also around $500. All the suspension is cheep because it went from 1973 through 1987 on almost every fullsize truck and suv that GM made. Infact the suvs were the same suspention through 91.

Q: thinking of buying a 2000 chevy silverado , have some questions?
Hi i found a silverado for sale for $5200 , its a 2000 standard model , 4.3
6cylinder , regular cab with air, its has only 52000 miles on it, 2 wheel drive, good deal ?
when i took it for a test drive heard water moving behind dash , what could that be? was told because it is so cold out -2 that it was anitfreeze moving into heater core? does that make sense?other than that truck drove good but needs a alignment, any advice appreciated

A: Kelly blue book says it is a good deal. Check yourself.http://www.kbb.com/

Q: Pros and Cons on 03-06 Chevy Silverado’s?
I’m getting my first truck and I can’t decide which one. Which chevy silverado should I go for?

http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars_for_sale/2003_Chevrolet_C1500_110074827_30
i hate when they dont tell you the price. even if you email them

http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/Chevrolet-Silverado+1500-cars327358924
Which would be the 2 wise picks?

A: Well the v6 will not tow around alot of weight….You should buy a 4×4 because resale is higher than a 2×4…..I,d get a duramax 2500….You,ll always have enough power and diesel is cheaper than gas.

Q: looking for a ford or chevy 4×4 pick-up 1996 to 2000 .?
with high mi. and for under $6,000 and have for sale a 1994 chevy Silverado 1500 truck 4×4 for $1,800.

A: look on www.4×4pickuptrucksforsale.com

Q: Need help finding a brush guard for a 2000 Chevy Silverado?
i have a 2000 chevy 1500 5.3 Z71 looking for a brush guard for sale of if some one you know who as one light bars will work to

A: http://www.andysautosport.com/chevrolet/1999_2004_silverado/ Please check out this parts site. They have great parts and good prices.Best of luck.

Q: I have a question about running boards on a Chevy Silverado?
I have a 99 (new body) Chevy Silverado 1500 Ext Cab 4×4

I love my truck, and I’d like to put running boards on it
There are a million Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras for sale on craigslist in Boise, and half of them have running boards

I’m going to make an offer to buy the running boards off of somebody’s truck, but before I do, I want to make sure that they are bolt on instead of weld on

How much work is it going to be to take these off and put them on?

Thanks

10 pts to best answer

A: I have an 06 extended cab with tubular assist steps. Looking to sell them as the lease is over next month. Anyway, most of these steps use the bolts for the frame. Remove them, hold step up to hole and reinstall, no drilling or welding needed.

Q: Does anyone have a set of Chevy brand wheels and tires for sale. ?
Send pics if you got them, and how much. I’m looking for a certain type, but I will consider anything. they have to be a least 20″ and have the pressure sensors already built in. I will be putting them on a 2007 Silverado, and they MUST BE CHEVY BRAND.

A: Hi I would look on E bay, you can find about anything you want and several you have never even thought of! Great place to parts shop, hunt, seek, buy. 2 years shopping there!

Q: what is the best way to find a 1977 chevy pickup in michigan?
im looking for a 1977 chevy silverado pickup i just want to browse whats for sale out there in michigan and i dont seem to have no luck in finding one

A: craigslist.com check it out. this truck is 30yrs old and it might have a lot of rust so be careful

Q: I have a 1993 chevy silverado 1500 truck!?
I have a 1993 chevy silverado 1500 truck that i just bought and it needs some stuff like all the componets for the smog emissions, and all the ac compponents and other things does anyone have a parts truck of the same type and year as mine for sale! near the stockton california area let me know!

A: have you checked your local Craig’s List under auto parts?

you can also run a WTB(wants to buy) ad

hope this helps

Q: Best place to advertise my car for sale in illinois with minimum cost?
I have tried ebay, backpage, craigslist, auto trader and chicago reader and all were useless. The people who contacted me from those advertising places were retarded, ignorant and totally wasted my time or one of those scamming type of people that try to run off with your car with a fake transaction.Ebay is totally infiltrated with car scammers on their which I am still in shock about that.

I have a 2003 Nissan 350Z I am trying to sell fast. Is there any other sites with minimum cost that have real serious buyers on it?

A: http://www.mautofied.com/

has a free listing category, hopes this helps

Q: Down-payment? Do they really help?
Im 17, second year in college. i have a stable job and im lookin forward to gettin a new car. Im currently saving enough to buy a new nissan 350z. Im saving about 15,000 for a down-payment so my monthly payments wont be so high. Is that really a good idea? someone told me recenly that most of the money you put as a downpaymen goes to the sales person. what do you think i should do?

A: Go to Kelly Blue Book to see what the dealer cost is first. then offer $500 over the dealer cost. They probably won’t take it; They’ll make a second offer; get up and walk out. Do this until they meet your price.

Get pre-approved for your car loan at a credit union before you go shopping. then you can tell them you are offering cash. Work with a loan officer to go over the options. A bigger down payment can get you a lower interest rate but could leave you strapped for cash. Nothing worse than having an expensive car sitting in the driveway that you are too broke to use! You may not qualify for financing with the large down payment; they typically only give loans to 18+ year olds. So, do you have a co-signer ready?

Have you checked on insurance? That is going to be a killer at your age. You might want to wait a few years to get the 350Z; sure, you’ll look good in it but is it practical for you and your buddies to go cruising in? It’s not exactly great on gas either. The little Scion coupe is sporty – won’t be near as fast but a lot safer.

You may even consider used for a while. The moment you buy a new car, it’s value drops 1,000’s of dollars. Buying used allows you to avoid some of the depreciation. Check Consumer Reports for their recommended used models that fit your needs/lifestyle.

If you do get one, enjoy it. But be sure you have a garage for it; car thieves love them (neighbor’s Z ended up stripped in California two days after she parked it in front of her house for a few hours here in Washington).

Q: good deal?
i was offered for a 07 nissan 350z enthusiast for 25,000. personally i think this is a good deal but at the same time i feel like im getting ripped off. the sales manager agreed so easily without any hesitation…

A: Well how many miles are on the 350z? You can check local papers or autotrader.com to see what the market value of actual 350’s being sold. Good Luck!

Q: Nissan 3.5 V6 petrol Engine, eg Renault Espace, Nissan 350z?
Hi, fancy a Grand Espace, circa 2005.

Test drove a 2.2 diesel auto, no go at all and that was just with me and sales rep on board.

Want to tow my caravan, carry 6 bikes {on the roof} plus wife & kids and enough stuff in the boot for upto 5 weeks away.

The 3.0 and indeed 2.2 Ren diesels keep blowing up, the turbos go pop every 30 to 50k – so I read !!

They also do a 3.5 V6 petrol unit, made by Nissan, as used in the mighty Nissan 350Z and many USA Nissan cars.

The renault Grand Espace 3.5 will do almost 30 MPG on a good day {only a bit less than my old Volvo 2.3 RWD petrol} and goes like stink!! Test drove one, went home to think about it, phoned up to say I’d have it, but been sold 20 mins earlier!!

Does anyone have a 3.5 Esapce or indeed owt with a 3.5 Nissan Petrol engine. – If so any probs with the engine?

I’ll only do 5k to 7k yr in it, so will only cost about £300 to £400 to run more than a diesel. Used pertol versions sell for less too.

Cheers Paul.

A: Hey dude Thats USA talk. Nissan 3.5 is one of the ten best engines of all time. I work on many that have high milage and still run great. Your going to want some power for hills and I think you will like the 3.5. Put the bikes on racks on the back of the Trailer out of the wind. Add a wing to the back of the van to push air over the trailer caravan. And most of all have fun traveling about.
